Someone is lying. Suspect men exaggerate and women underreport.

Oh, you could well be right but the degree to which they over or under report indicates what they think is the accepted norm. What the accepted norm is dictates where the society is headed.

Men think nine is about right to be normal and women think four is normal. What's that say about chastity prior to marriage, faithfulness suring marriage, the accetence of divorce, etc.

Accurate or not, it still says where society is and is headed.
