Hi All:
Amanda completed her stint in Tennessee in September... has been home going on six months... she is working very hard on her sobriety/recovery... the threat of jail probably has something to do with it.
Her spiritual life has grown along with her support circle... she has been befriended by many strong women who have long term recovery under their belts... some having deep faith... it appears to be helping.
I have given up trying to understand what tomorrow will bring... this is truly the Lord's... I only pray unceasingly and love her continuously...
Here is a picture taken a few weeks ago as she attended Hillsong Church in NYC... it gives me such hope to see her happy and finding joy in recovery and the Lord...
Keep praying for her, for us... it means more than you will ever know...
Amanda is bottom right...
PigRigger, just keep faith in our lord and keep showing your beloved Amanda your love and support. Recovery is a long and hard road, and she faces a lifetime of challenges to keep herself on the right path.
But, believe me she can do it. My daughter faced the same demons and fight as your Amanda. her demon was a little different (prescription narcotics and Alcohol) but the pathway to recovery and life is the same.
We went through the same up and down path of recovery and relapse with her, and thought we had lost her many times. Her recovery periods would vary from a few months to 2-3 years, and the clean and sober years were always a blessing.
Thankfully she finally turned the corner, and while every day is still a struggle to keep the demons bottled up and imprisoned she is now married to a wonderful man, employed fulltime in a job she loves, and just passed 7 years Clean!
God will bless you and will protect your Amanda as long as she wants him to. Put your faith in him and in her.
