I have never heard of it but we don`t have many vines in my parts of the country, really strange how come it to be there.
But strange things do happen.
When I was about eight or nine years old, I think it was about 1945 we had three brothers who were musicians working for us through broom corn harvest, they became friends with my two older brothers who did not live with us and would go to town together and listen to the music on the nickel odium in the café.
When they got back home they would play the songs from memory, I was two young to know but my brothers said they were very good and could not read a note of music.
A small world.
After I grew up I was in midland Texas and ran across some people who knew them, said they were still going here and there and playing music.
We could not have known them for much more than a month but to this day they seem like part of the family.
My grandson is very musical. When he was about 5, he started taking piano lessons but his teacher told my daughter she was wasting her money. He could hear a song and go play it. He was composing songs, too. Some people just have gifts from God. His aunt, my late daughter was the same way but her instruments were all of the clarinets. We went through her trying to play the violin but that was not her instrument. I can not play anything although I did play at the baritone horn in high school. I wanted to be in the band, met the director and he asked me what I played. I then asked what he needed and the bh was his answer. As a teen I knew I could do anything so that is what I learned to play. Some more great memories!
You must not know what good ole kudzu is, then. What a pain that stuff is. It takes over everything. I have seen small forests covered in it on the way to my hometown in MS.
Yes, it is a gift from god, any one who does not have it can practice all their life and never be very good but some one who has it can not be held back.
I have been around musicians most of my life but could never play anything except some times a radio, my brothers and sisters the same way.
My mother could sing and was offered a job on the radio station but they never had no way to get her to town and back so she lost the chance.
The brothers played the Ernest Tubb, Roy Acuff and Gene Autry music, one of them played a fiddle, the other two played guitars.
but his teacher told my daughter she was wasting her money.>>>>
His teacher probably never had it.
You must not know what good ole kudzu is, then.
