“who was appointed secretary-general of the Italian episcopal conference by Pope Francis.” Sorry gentlemen, but this is your holy by the bible leader? I would personally have to reevaluate my relationship with any religion that appoints and condones this kind of unGodly behavior.

Oh what fools some Bishops be.

He says “discrimination” like it is always a bad thing.

Sorry for the delay... work swamped me for a bit.

You do realize, don’t you, that you’ve offered nothing (in the way of proof, reasoning, or evidence) to support your claims, but that you’ve thrown out a raw opinion, and nothing more? I’ve scanned the entire thread, and I still can’t find where you prove the Catholic Church wrong (and your personal interpretation/understanding of Scripture to be correct); if I’ve missed it, can you give me the comment number?

“You do realize, don’t you, that you’ve offered nothing (in the way of proof, reasoning, or evidence) to support your claims, but that you’ve thrown out a raw opinion, and nothing more? “

I pointed out the falseness. There was no susequent discussion at all - except for one poster who was a mind reader. It ended there.

I see. Surly, evasive, and utterly unwilling to back up wild claims with facts. That, FRiend, is what we sometimes call a “drive-by post”... which is a choice weapon of trolls. Just saying.

Come on, now. You don’t want to be called a “troll”, but you don’t want to do anything more than lob a grenade as you speed by; you can’t have it both ways.

Don’t you have any “reasons for the hope which is in you” (cf. 1 Peter 3:15)? Don’t you have any reasons for your initial claim (and the initial claimant has the initial burden of proof)? It’s a little disingenuous to do a drive-by flame, and then say “Oh, but I don’t see any real hope for meaningful conversation, so I’ll pass!” That’s rather... convenient-sounding, isn’t it? If I did that to you, would *you* buy it? I think not.

So... if you don’t want me to “mind-read” (which was actually a logical extrapolation of the comments you gave—which is all you gave me to go on), perhaps you might at least explain why you think the Catholic Church is wrong? I promise, I’ll listen attentively.

Here is my response to your first two posts:

“I’d ask for actual evidence to support your claims, but so far your posts don’t promise a meaningful conversation. I’ll pass.”

And here’s my reply to that, in turn:

“It’s a little disingenuous to do a drive-by flame, and then say ‘Oh, but I don’t see any real hope for meaningful conversation, so I’ll pass!’ That’s rather... convenient-sounding, isn’t it? If I did that to you, would *you* buy it? I think not.”

It would also be sporting of you to supply evidence to support your initial claim (made before any of mine) *first*, as well... yes?

I think I’ve been politely clear that reading your posts was enough to convince me that continuing to exchange posts with you would be pointless.

Thanks anyway and I wish you the best.

All right. But I do think that makes you look as if you have no coherent/solid answer, and that you simply like to make unsubstantiated “drive-by opinion” attacks against the Catholic Church. I’ll let the reader decide between us, on that point.

For future reference: saying that someone is “wrong”, and then refusing to substantiate that claim (or to retract it and apologize), isn’t polite—it’s rude. Just saying. You might want to break that habit, if you don’t want to be a perennial aggravation to ordinary people.

I’ll also assume that you’re not being sarcastic with your well-wishes, and wish you the same.
