Nathaniel Morales, who was recently convicted of sexually abusing boys he met in a Gaithersburg church decades ago, was sentenced to 40 years in prison Thursday.
In two trials in May, jurors found Morales guilty of a series of counts of sex abuse and sex offense. Victims gave powerful testimonies of what Morales did to them and the lasting effect it had.

Better off dead - wasn’t there a movie with that title?
Mr. Morales is currently 56 years old.
You know him?
No, but I know how to find out how old he is.
Victims gave powerful testimonies of what Morales did to them and the lasting effect it had.
**Morales, now 56, was an active adult member of Covenant Life Church in the 1980s singing on stage during services and helping with a teenage youth group.**
I keep saying if they would only let these guys not have to be celibate and get married ======================oops, wrong denomination.
Gay clergy is not exclusive to the RCC... it just seems that way...This gay guy happened to find a different church home to ply his trade...
Catholic church can’t have all the gays...that would be a monopoly and monopolies are bad as we were taught in school.
What you all are missing is that this happened in the 1980’s. The victims did not come out and say anything until 2009.
Dare I ask, how many more are out there in the protestant churches as well?
Have a feeling this is the tip of the iceberg.
That happened with a lot of priests too; ambulance chasing attorneys.
The priest cases were not always recent either..
And considering the long term tolerance of church leaderships of having gays as clergy, eventually these folks may come across these same chums later in life and nowadays can keep track of them via the internet..
And now being adults themselves, can hire their own lawyers.
It is a failure of the adults when these kids needed them... sometimes kids have to wait until they are an adult to get other adults to listen... and those adult lawyers like to listen...
That's right because instead of being promoted, he's in jail.
There is an article on drudge detailing some covering up of some 1,400 child abuse cases [or maybe lack of diligence] in England, seems to have a high frequency among the Mohammadens but it also cuts into the Christian community there as well.
Lets be honest, it is sickening regardless of which religious group it happens in because we are talking bout minors being abused. Still, I agree, the Catholic Church gets the vitriolic attacks from the secular media, more so than other Christian groups.
Brilliant analysis and so true.

No one group of humans has a corner on pedophilia. It runs through them all with the same occurrence. I think we all know that...and we know who gets the blame.
MOST child abuse happens in/around family members/friends, from what I've read. Am I wrong?
------------------------------
The media have always loathed evangelicals and the Catholic Church, so the vitriol is predictable.
I doubt it...Protestant churches do not seem to have a proclivity for hiring queer leaders as the Catholics do...
