Who Is the Man Who Fears We Could Be on the Eve of 'World War III'?

Hardly any Americans will know of Hilarion Alfeyev, 48, a Russian Orthodox bishop who acts as the "foreign minister" of his Church, but it is important that they do. He is a bridge between not just the Orthodox Church and Catholicism but a bridge between Russia and America.

As a Catholic American, I first saw him 15 years ago on a cold December day in Moscow. Hilarion, then 33, was already a rising star in the firmament of the Russian Orthodox Church.

He had done his graduate studies in philosophy at Oxford — rather rare for Russian Orthodox Church leaders.

Back in Moscow, he had been named Secretary for Inter-Christian Affairs in the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, meaning his task was to deal with Protestants and Catholics.

Hilarion had been sent to attend a special ceremony in the Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Moscow. It was a small courtesy extended by the Russian Orthodox leadership to the Catholics, who number only a few thousand in that great city of 17 million...

An idea that Ukraine is somehow lacks weapons to fight a war is simply ridiculous. They have tanks, IFVs, anti-air and anti-tank weapons, not to mention millions of small arms.
Where do you think all these surplus rifles and ammo comes from?
Their deficiency lies elsewhere.

They need to get busy killing Russians. That is he answer to help Russians understand that they cannot willy nilly takeover their neighbors for their own vanity.

Your problem is that despite the bitter propaganda from both sides Ukrainians aren’t that much fond with your idea and so does Russians.
That is why the clashes are mostly between right-wing nuts and muslims from both sides.

Putin is going to force them to get fond of it. You wait and see. Just as most people thought he was done with Ukraine, he fell back on his communist conscience. The real inner KGB bitch will come out of him. And all of his fans can praise him for his Christian championship while he will use extremely unchristian means against a people Russia was at peace with until the neighboring country refused to do what Putin told them they must do.

~Putin is going to force them to get fond of it.~

You mean like Ukrainian government which cluster-bombs a home of it’s own citizen, killing his family and then expects him to stay loyal?

I know whatever happens in Ukraine you will blame on the Ukrainians. Here is an idea. Russians go home. Leave the people of Ukraine alone.

Why not? Just like Americans are responsible for their nation. So does the Russians, the Chinese or the Zimbabweans.

Well, the Russians, Chinese, and Zimbabweans make for a very amusing retort. I’d say Putin has a lot in common with Mugabe, which must please you as an apologist for his regime with its cronies, corruption, and crimes.

It is amazing how plain truth passes for "controversy" today. I never thought I'd live to see religious truth proclaimed in Russia and denied in the West. I wouldn't believe the former if it weren't for the starkly contrasting latter. I didn't believe our decline would be this rapid.

You are not alone, by any means.

Prostitution, porn, abortion, alcoholism, drugs... there’s much more of social pathology in Russia than in the west, on “gays” they are right just like majority of the world but they way they use it is to mock the west because that’s what KGB in charge is requesting.

WW 3 was really the “cold war”. We are really in WW 4 which as you have said, started on 9/11/01.

The real big concern ought to be what is going on now in the Middle East, could that be a possible lead to a future “hot war” ?

I think there's more to it than those symptoms which you cited, as those are the result of the total collapse and bottoming out of an atheistic society. (And you omitted Russia's very low birth rate, which at 1.6 per woman is a demographic disaster -- although Germany's and Italy's 1.4 and Poland's 1.3 rates are even more suicidal.) These social pathologies which are still ravaging post-Soviet Russia are the same ones taking hold in the still-collapsing West, which is destroying itself while stubbornly rejecting the God who authored its founding. In short, I believe that Russia is climbing out of the bottom while we are still digging to reach it.

“I believe that Russia is climbing out of the bottom while we are still digging to reach it.”

I see nothing indicating that, operatives of Russian state religion mocking the west over “homo” nonsense are not any sign of “religious truth”. It’s just a part of their psychological warfare.

“Bildebergs.”

Oooh, you think? I hadn’t considered them, but it just might make sense. If it’s true, it’s up to us to let the rest of the world know.
