So why is Msgr Pope posting about St Patrick's Day in September?

Maybe these headlines had something to do with it:

1ST GAY GROUP TO MARCH IN NEW YORK CITY ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

Or maybe it was Dolan's reaction to this news:

Cardinal Dolan Statement on St. Patrick's Day Parade 2015

September 3, 2014

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 3, 2014

CARDINAL DOLAN STATEMENT ON ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE 2015

Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, released the following comment today on the 2015 Saint Patrick’s Day Parade:

“The Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee continues to have my confidence and support. Neither my predecessors as Archbishop of New York nor I have ever determined who would or would not march in this parade (or any of the other parades that march along Fifth Avenue, for that matter), but have always appreciated the cooperation of parade organizers in keeping the parade close to its Catholic heritage. My predecessors and I have always left decisions on who would march to the organizers of the individual parades. As I do each year, I look forward to celebrating Mass in honor of Saint Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland, and the Patron Saint of this Archdiocese, to begin the feast, and pray that the parade would continue to be a source of unity for all of us.”

No. Full stop.

While my patron saint is not St. Patrick (It’s St. Michael, the dude with the sword and the permission from Him to use it), anything that does good in the world should be encouraged by the Church. Isn’t it a petty enough place already without actively making life worse?

St. Patrick would not want his name good name disgraced by homosexual debauchery. Shame on ungodly officials in NY for giving another victory to Satan.

Msgr. Pope is right on.

At these Masses, at which Catholics will be praying in reparation for the killing of 58 million babies, will Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, and the other practitioners of Surreal Catholicism, be marching up for their sacrilegious, scandalous Communions? And will they be GIVEN Communion?

I am looking forward to seeing Cardinal Dolan riding as Grand Marshal of a parade that includes naked men and women. It would serve him so, so right.

Great recommendations, but Msgr. Pope is late to the game. I've written off all the idiocy associated with the Archdiocese of New York a long time ago.

Heck -- when the controversy about the Al Smith Dinner first came up in 2012, I was surprised to hear that the event was still being held. I thought it had been discontinued years ago.

The Archbishop of New York is now a tool of a leftist, radically secular Caesar. This photo sums the dude up perfectly:

Cardinal Dolan is considered the leader of the Catholic Church in the US. Needless to say he has been a huge disappointment. He hasn’t spoken out loudly against abortion or the gay lifestyle. To top it off, in’15 he intends to be the Grand Marshall of the St. Pat’s parade, which for the first time will have a contingent of gays marching. He continues to give communion to politicians who preach for abortion and gays. He continues to buddy up with RAT politicians without taking them to the woodshed. He’s nothing more than a pasta & adult drink loving blowhard.

This decision is completely contrary to THE St. Patrick’s Day parade, the purpose of which was and is for Irish Catholics to march publicly up the principal avenue of the nation’s largest city as a testimony to their having remained Catholic despite violent oppostion in their ancestral land and their adoptive home. Now, it’s another Gay Pride/Halloween/Debased Easter Parade with the focus beinng flouting traditional mores, our formerly Christian culture, plain good manners, but most importantly, the dictates of the Catholic Church. The World won. I wonder what They had on the AOH to wrest this victory from them.

From Breitbart:
A 1993 article in the New York Times may contradict Cardinal Dolan's assertion. “The Hibernians and Cardinal O'Connor have said there is no place for a gay contingent in the parade because it is a Catholic event and the church teaches that homosexual acts are sinful.”

Also, reviewing the parade that year, Cardinal O’Connor was quoted in the New York Times saying political correctness “was not worth one comma in the Apostles' Creed.” The Cardinal also said he "'could never even be perceived as compromising Catholic teaching' by entertaining their admission as an identifiable group in the city's 232d parade up Manhattan's showcase avenue in honor of St. Patrick.”

We need another Cardinal O'Connor as Archbishop of New York, not someone who caves to the evils of the world and fights against traditional Catholics.

Dolan’s word leave a sour taste in my mouth. He needs to stay out of the parade as a testament to his unity to the Catholic faith. His appearance will be taken as an endorsement of deviant sexual lifestyles.

His diocese pulled his article:

Wonder if Msgr. Pope will now be defrocked and banished to South Africa?!?

Decades ago the “Al Smith Dinner” was a time for Republicans and Democrats to bury the hatchet (even if only temporarily) and come together to raise money for the poor and to emphasize what unites us rather than what divides us.

Maybe, maybe not. Seems like the only time the dinner made the papers was when one politician used it to score cheap points against the other.

Thank God you preserved the post Mark OMalley, since Monsignor Pope is being censored, and since he speaks the Truth, it boils down to God being censored.
