They were all Saudis who were THROWN out of their homeland and promised a BEHEADING if they ever returned...or worse, revenge on their families.
Saudi Arabia: There were beheadings on Friday mornings in the town square. There was one in the little town near our American camp. We were allowed to go, but we PASSED on that one.
Hand choppings also occur on Friday mornings. Those USED to be the very worst for people.
Remember, there were NO trees in Saudi Arabia. THUS, no paper. THUS, no toilet paper. They all used their LEFT had to, er, wipe. THAT IS WHY they eat ONLY with their RIGHT HAND.
Now, of course, the country is AWASH with toilet paper and all the water they want with their GIGANTIC water desalinization plants.
There are "hammams" all over the place for the folks to wash before they enter the mosque for the 5-times-daily prayers. They all have the clean hands now.
TRUE STORY:
I worked with 30 Saudis and by 1:00 P.M. they all stank of B.O. I complained to my Saudi boss.
He explained that all the deodorants from America were scented and Saudi men wore no scents. That was what WOMEN wore.
SO, I got a hold of ARRID extra-dry NO SCENT and brought it to him. He sprayed it, sniffed and OKAYED it.
From then on the 30 men smelled JUST FINE because my boss got them to buy ARRID extra-dry NO SCENT deodroant. My nose was happy!
You KNOW I could NOT have made that up!
I want to go to New Zealand. Australia is a close second. Then Chile.... I would have liked to gone to Turkey, Lebanon, and Israel but I don’t want to visit while things are heated, which means I’ll probably never get to go.
My husband use to vacation in Tunisia. He said it was a crap hole but it was cheap, sunny and they did cater to English and other Europeans who traveled there.
My first trip to France, my husband and I get off the train and a some man walks up to us, lifts up his shirt and starts rubbing his nipples. My husband looks at me and says, “Now you see why we (Brits) hate the French”.
I was told that if you “wait for peace” in the middle east, you will NEVER go. You might call the Israeli consulate/Embassy and hear what THEY suggest.
