>>The lamb is UNDER Mary’s feet.<<

So is the serpent. They've taken that away from Jesus and given it to Mary.

Ezekiel 3:1 And he said to me, “Son of man, eat whatever you find here. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”

Do you literally eat the scroll (Bible) before you teach?

The power to forgive sin belongs only to God, Jesus claimed to have this power and right (Mark 2:5-7).... What he commits to the disciples and to us is the power and privilege of giving assurance of the forgiveness of sins by God by correctly announcing the terms of forgiveness.
..... There is no proof that he actually transferred to the apostles or their successors the power in and of themselves to forgive sins.

Acts 15:8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them,

....”the belief in the assumption of Mary is needed for salvation per the Catholic Church. THAT is “another gospel” not taught by the apostles”.....

Yes..indeed it is another gospel.

“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.’

I would prefer that people unable to tolerate open debates about their religion refrain from coming here since they seem only to cause flame wars and disrupt the progress of the discussion.

You've never been responsible for a flame war via your commentary? That's an accomplishment! :)

But "progress"? Here comes John McEnroe: "You must be joking!"

I've been here since '08 and the exact same stuff is being mulled over on these type discussions as was back then. They are dark threads (in one way or the other). I'm trying to shed some LIGHT as best I can, calling on Our Lord and Our Lady to help me. If you wish to infer I can't tolerate open debates about my religion, I would have to disagree. Jesus has my back (through the Sacraments), and I'll stand up for Him and His mother however I can.

...”GMTA”......( ...G-ive M-e T-hat A-gain)...

Ok....:)

The Bible clearly says:

“For ...”by Grace”... you have been saved.... “through faith” ..... (Eph. 2)

“Therefore having been... “justified by faith”,.... we have peace with God ...”through our Lord Jesus Christ,”...... (Rom. 5:1)

Say, GC, did any Catholic ever address the topic of this thread?

The Assumption of Mary was condemned by two popes early on in church history and now it’s evolved into a doctrine that must be believed.

How did that happen I wonder?

Were the first popes wrong after all?

Or are the later popes wrong and heretical?

Not really. The same out hot and heavy heaping fire and brimstone and with name calling.

But as is often the case, noise without substance.

So how does a Catholic know whether they’re heretical or not?

On one hand, some popes say that it’s heresy.

On the other hand, it’s now written into the CCC.

Refresh my memory.....

Haven’t we been told that the Catholic church never changes?
