Do you believe that Elijah was taken into heaven in a whirlwind? That Enoch “walked with God”?

Absolutely. Scripture tells us that.

Then why don’t you believe that the Blessed Virgin Mary could have been assumed into heaven?

Not *could have been*. *Was* Because Scripture DOESN'T tell us that.

Technically anything is possible. That doesn't mean cause someone didn't say it didn't happen that we can assume that it did.

That's folly.

It's kinda -- hmm, nicely, nicely --- it's kinda unnecessarily constricted to say you doubt something happened if it didn't happen in Scripture, which --- correct me if I'm wrong --- seems to be your opinion. A whole lotta history happened over the past 2,000 years, and can't use the fact that it's not in Scripture as your sole criterion to determine whether it happened or not. Scriptural truth isn't the only truth. There's also the birth, marriage and death records at the County Courthouse, for instance, other facts and reasonable inferences from facts which are the common stuff of legitimate historiography.

Nor can you assume that it didn't, so why are you so vociferously arguing that it didn't? Even if I accept your claim that the Bible doesn't teach it, it's a theolegoumenon, so Christians aught to be individually free to believe it or not. Why does "Christian liberty" go out the window with you guys whenever something sounds "too Catholic"? Can you answer that?

(In point of fact, I don't think the Bible is silent on it at all, and Revelation 12 is why.)
