"Only in RCC teaching is there gradation of sin."

=============================================================

------------------------------------------------------------

If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal.    There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that.    All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal.    1 John 5:16-17

And the bible does NOT say which is which.

EXACTLY what I claimed.

"Only in RCC teaching is there gradation of sin."

John made NO distinction here:

1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

So this little bunch of scripture is what you guys use to falsely justify venial and mortal sins...

1Jn 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
1Jn 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

But you always stop there...Are there any Catholics who read beyond those verses??? Since most Catholics don't read scripture but only hear what their priests want them to hear at Mass it's pretty unlikely...

Mar 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
Mar 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

There is only one mortal sin and that sin will not be forgiven...But more than that:

1Jn 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

1Jn 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

1Jn 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

I won't even comment on these verses because it is so clear one can't possibly misunderstand what they say...
