Immodest Dressing Could Lead to Killing (Unborn Babies)
Traditional Catholic Priest ^ | 9-28-14 | Fr. Carota

Posted on 09/28/2014 10:10:18 AM PDT by mlizzy

In this blog I want to show that sexually provocative clothing can lead to sexual activity. The lust that provocative clothing causes, is for sex, for pleasure outside of marriage, and not to bring a child into the world. The type of sex that this could provoke, based on lust, could lead to an un-wanted pregnancy. And this pregnancy could end with the unborn baby being murdered at an abortion mill.

abortAs many of you know, the 40 Days For Life has begun again. I went to pray the Holy Rosary where they kill unborn babies this morning after Latin Mass. There was a group of Catholics praying the Holy Rosary in Spanish. There were also some ex-Catholics there protesting the abortions going on.

What first struck my mind were several women dressed very immodestly. A few were Catholics, but most of the others were from a Protestant church. (I know because I was at the organizing meeting and met them). In particular was a 14 year old young woman in very short pants and another woman next to her in leggings.

After we prayed the Holy Rosary, I kindly explained how dressing immodestly causes men to want to have sex without wanting children, and if the woman gets pregnant, she may want to kill that baby.

I had assumed the woman next to her was her mother and I explained it very kindly, not accusing them of anything and saying that I know that they are not dressing immodestly to have sex. Well the young woman turned out to be the daughter of the organizer for 40 Days for Life from the Protestant church. She came over to me very very upset because I had caused her daughter to cry.

I tried to explain what happened and why I told both women what I did. She still was very upset with me over saying anything to her daughter. I explained to her that immodest dress offends God and it is in the Bible to dress modestly.

Finally she told me, what many women in my last parish told me, that the problem is with us men, for thinking about sex when we see sexually provocatively dressed women. We men are the problem for having dirty minds. They believe that the Bible is wrong, the Catholic Church (that use to preach against this) is wrong and that the sin is in the men who are tempted to look.

what-is-sweeter-than-putting-ones-whole-heart-into-the-hands-of-the-blessed-virgin-mary-copyFeminists want men to be women and react and be like women. Men are not made like women nor do we react like women. Men are very visual. We men are very weak sexually. I asked her if she had a husband to ask, whether dressing like this caused him sexual temptations. She said no. I should of asked her to ask her father. As I was leaving, all of the group of ladies from her church were talking together.

Nothing in my life has ever caused me more suffering than speaking the truth that immodest dressing offends God and is wrong. I have always done it with love and taking the time to give Biblical and rational reasons.

It was God’s chosen people who punished, ridiculed and killed the Prophets and Jesus. I will go on speaking here on my blog and to whom ever I can about what does and does not please God no matter what the consequences are. I have and will continue to be shunned and persecuted from so called “Holy Catholics,” along with protestants. I guess we will have to wait for death to be told by God who is right. I put my bet on the Bible that states it clearly, dress with modesty.

“In like manner women also in decent apparel: adorning themselves with modesty and sobriety, not with plaited hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly attire, But as it becometh women professing godliness, with good works.” 1 Timothy 2: 9-10

Thank God my mother was a woman of modesty and good taste in the way she dressed. I never was ashamed of being with her in public. She did wear pants a few times, but mostly she wore only dresses below the knees.

Our Mother Mary is the model and example of beauty and modesty. Thank you to all of you women that are modest and not dressed like prostitutes. May God and Mary reward you. I am sure you are ridiculed too. Please God, and do not offend Him.

Believe it or not, I do not plan my day out to see how many women I can get to hate me, get me in trouble and say mean things to me. I like to be left alone like everyone else. But when God calls me to speak out the truth, I cannot be quiet, no matter if I am being hated and kicked out of parishes for it. Bishops and priests, please do something about how the women come to Holy Mass greatly offending God in the way they are dressed.

Father Carota is a Traditional Latin priest, and truly, one of a kind. God love him.

And he is correct about the immodest dress.

Modesty is one of the 12 Fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Modesty – Produces moderation in external actions

Companion To: Counsel

Purity of heart requires the modesty which is patience, decency, and discretion.  Modesty protects the intimate center of the person. ~ CCC§2533

Thus…

Modesty protects the mystery of persons and their love. It encourages patience and moderation in loving relationships; it requires that the conditions for the definitive giving and commitment of man and woman to one another be fulfilled.

Modesty is decency. It inspires one’s choice of clothing. It keeps silence or reserve where there is evident risk of unhealthy curiosity. It is discreet. ~ CCC§2522, emphasis added

Something, I’m sorry to say, is VERY MUCH LACKING in our over-sexed and depraved world. Would we put Ancient Rome to shame with our immodest-ies?

Thank you, Salvation! I agree with Father completely on this too; if only all priests, or even 10% of them, spoke up on this, it would be good.

Although I would agree with his examples of immodesty, the problem with “immodesty in dress” is the subjectivism associated with it. There are some who believe any pair of pants on a woman is sinful/immodest.

This should have been your clue that you're doing it wrong.

This issue is correctly addressed by Fr. Carota, and needs constant repeating in the assembly, as well as church discipline, to keep modesty in the forefront of every Christian's behavior. Immodesty is just a form of bragging, however it is presented. Together with it is the core issue of dating, with a dating conduct carte blanche offered to the very youngest teenagers by the current culture of the world.

Probably the easiest and most effective implementation of mutual modesty is for every Christian woman, teener or mature, to dress such that attention is drawn to her face, especially in the time for assembly. Men need to take the stance with their eyes as did Job, "For why should I look upon a maid" (look it up). Look at a woman's eyes, to the ground, or to the middle distance. That is modest behavior.

Pants are oftentimes too tight and what Father is saying, is that men are really, REALLY weak, and I get that. There are sports, though, and it’s almost impossible to wear a dress while swimming laps. :)

Tell me you’re joking——please.

C.S. Lewis writes in Mere Christianity along those lines. A topless African or Polynesian tribeswoman may be modest in their culture, whereas in Victorian England, showing an ankle was immodest.

It gets murkier in a place where many different cultures or subcultures mix, because what is "immodest" to one is not to the other.

Hey why don’t all of us women wear burkas?
Seriously, this just ticks me off. I was told that I was flaunting myself once, considering my outfit of choice is jeans and t-shirts, I’m still confused by that comment.
The rationale that I’m getting from this article and subsequent posts is the same one that islamists use to put women in burkas covered from head to toe.

Everything you said: excellent! My brother-in-law, Father Bill, is a pastor of a Church in the Gary [IN] Diocese, and right there in the bulletin is a sizable block of copy instructing what is not allowed in Church during the summer. I'm sure he enforces it to the best of his ability, too. God love him.

But your self-appointed enforcement extends beyond the church (where of course church-appropriate attire should be worn) to the streets. Such as the street near the abortion clinic, where you approach someone else’s kid to explain your theories about “men wanting sex without children”.

Modesty is pretty subjective. One of the examples in the article, leggings -- I simply don't find them to be a "turn on," if if they tightly contour every curve and wrinkle. If anything I find such apparel mildy bemusing -- I've had one or two awkward situations where women have asked me why I'm smirking. I suppose the lame "I thought of something funny" was more charitable than saying "I'm laughing to myself because your pants look really silly."

Everybody is different I suppose, but from my own experience the meme "men are so very, very weak" is bumkus. Whether a woman is wearing an ankle-length skirt or jeans, or a string bikini as the case may be, its well within my feeble willpower to NOT feel even the slightest bit of lust whatsoever. It takes personality, a pecularly wry twist of the mouth, a certain way of walking/talking/laughing, a sharp wit, etc, to really cause need for prayerful lust-control.

The truth is men who lust do so because they want to, and they'll want to whether the object of lust is well-clad or not.

No one knows better what can lead to abortion than a Catholic priest; they hear it in the confessional all the time. And a 40 Days for Life event is about the prevention of abortion.

A couple of priests have spoken out that pornography is the #1 sin in the confessional. I would think that would decrease somewhat if women dressed more modestly.

Creeping out stranger children with your sex theories is probably not the best way to grow your movement. Just saying.

Pornography is an insidious evil, but it was distributed widely even back when people dressed more modestly in general. I’m not saying modesty isn’t a good thing to encourage, but I don’t think its an antidote to porn.

Yes, pants CAN BE tight. But they don’t have to be. So I’m really just saying that immodesty in dress isn’t so black and white.
