I can’t accept that my Jesus Christ, after preaching love as the central core of his teaching, to die on the cross for our sins, then hopped over to “the Americas” to slaughter entire civilizations, men, women and children over his Easter break before rising from the dead and continuing to teach love.

But then it does help me understand how some Mormons can consider killing someone if they deserve it to still be “christlike”; that gives them a lot of leeway in being christlike to their fellow man.

Maybe they just got the time and location wrong? When Jesus returns to save Jerusalem lots and lots of people are killed (1/3 of the population either lives or dies—haven’t figured out which). In fact, I think that anyone who doesn’t want Him as ruler is killed. This past Palm Sunday it popped into my head to study what Jesus was thinking on His way up to Jerusalem. I turned to each of the Gospels and read what He was teaching on His way to Jerusalem.

What jumped out at me and really didn’t make sense was Luke 19. Please read it all and pay particular attention to verse 27.

Remember, Jesus is to be feared by those who hate Him, just as God the Father is to be feared. Jesus is now on the throne to exact judgment and believe me, He is angrier at the morality of this world today than ever except right before the flood? Abortion (child sacrifice) is the abomination that causes desolation.

The Old Testament is full of the lovingkindness of the Father, too. They are the same. Jesus is the Word of God, meaning that He does exactly what God said in the Old Testament.

Interesting point is that GOD DOES NOT LOVE HIS ENEMIES the way we are supposed to. We are actually God’s enemies except that we love Him, He has given us faith in His salvation, and became His children. God does not forgive His enemies who hate Him and do not want to be ruled by Him.

Anyway. The Aztecs and Mayans practiced human sacrifice and their civilization no longer exists. The native Americans probably practiced human sacrifice in Ohio. The Israelites practiced child sacrifice and they were invaded. The people who lived in the Promised Land practiced child sacrifice and that is why the Israelites were given their land. The Israelites were supposed to kill men, women, and children. Nations that practice child sacrifice are not forgiven. Nations. Read 2 Kings 23: 26 & 27 and 24: 3 & 4 It is the only time in the Old Testament that “would not forgive” is spoken.
