Tim Tebow was not fined for taking the Christian prayer stance in the end zone. OTOH, all the celebrations shenanigans in general, end zone and otherwise, will continue until the NFL players themselves begin to chide their fellow players when they act like it is somehow unusual for them to accomplish what they are being paid to accomplish.
In modern era NFL the cool players can’t or won’t police the jerks. That’s the nature of the game today, modern officiating + a penalty sysytem, a million camera angles, and only 16 games meaning so much $ for everyone. It’s up to players, and they get drafted from a super-popular farm system that makes it hard to weed out the jerks before they make it to the big show. So they have excessive celebration rules suitable for 2nd graders.
If baseball only played 16 games they might not stick someone when they are acting jerky either. 162 games makes it much easier to make your point when it’s not going to cost you.

I have no problem with celebrations when a plan succeeds, however, if your ‘exuberant display’ goes on for more than 5 seconds, you are no longer a football player, you are a cheerleader.
