Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?

As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.

Convinced isn't just about me, though. Yup, and that means that he did NOT eat the real body and blood of Jesus at the last supper. Peter recognized it as symbolic or he would never have eaten it.

And Peter did keep kosher, thanks to Jesus because Jesus didn't give him blood to consume or flesh that would have qualified as unclean.

Thanks. I want this over. We are making plans to go to a Mississippi State post season game. I have a wonderful grand niece in MS who is a big Bulldog fan and I went there many years ago. We want to go to a game. She said we should make it an all girl trip but I told her we needed her twin brothers and my grandson along. State is having an amazing season and we are so proud of Coach Dan and the players, so Hail State. : )

Partially correct. I was born, baptized, and raised a Catholic. However, I did not go off into other denominations or sects.

I thought you would attend church services somewhere on Sundays, or perhaps Saturdays.

I found forgiveness through Christ and was born again. <>I rejoice.

Religious affiliation has nothing to do with it.

I would think you have to pick some denomination, sect, or group of churches with whom to assemble.

Scripture permeates my heart and mind daily as I read it, memorize it, and meditate on it. I would NEVER go back to as little Scripture as I had as a Catholic. Why would I want to spiritually starve myself instead of freely feasting on the word at my leisure?

Never go back to sin; cling to the LORD Jesus Christ. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Just consider, that while you were starved for grace and truth during your earlier years and the Catholic Church seemingly did not minister to you, it does not mean others have that same experience. Try to keep an open heart and mind. If you find a group of churches that are holy, catholic, apostolic, and historic, share them with me.

You misquoted Ephesians and your addition made Peter the most chief of the foundation builders. You did that. You're not making great sense about some posts. YOU brought up (by yourself and with no help from me) the subject of Peter being Apostle to the Jews. Are you hearing voices? You aren't listening to me at all. Why is it you are having trouble hearing me tonight and, rather, are quoting me for things I haven't posted? No more insults are necessary from you to defend your religious preferences or slop hogwash toward my belief.

WHO is Marc Driscoll and how is he germaine to my sincere questions and statements you have evaded so far?

He was the pastor at Mars Hill megachurch. I figure all those who cannot name their denomination, sect, or group may as well be counted as Marc Driscoll's group. Oh, and he wrote a controversial book, chapter 10 is a scandal, and in my view fits It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, but he did not approve taking one's stepmother to wife; he approved something else.

All of which reinforces the risk and danger of all these thousands of denominations, sects, and groups that spring up in rebellion and revolt as if they can reform and create a new religious tradition from scratch in a quest to restore a church they never knew.

Don't ignore Ephesians. It's staring at you. The apostles, of whom Peter became chief servant, are the foundation, with the Jewish prophets, Jesus being the chief corner stone.(that means the church was built on them for those in Rio Linda).

Granted, you may have just thrown that line about Peter in there as an innocent bit of editorializing, but if you were attempting to project what Ephesians taught, there's nothing in there about Peter being exalted over the others, "chief," or in any other material sense, and a reasonable reader could view your lumping that all together as perhaps a  less than accurate representation of what Paul said:

Ephesians 2:18-21  For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.  (19)  Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;  (20)  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;  (21)  In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

I may not have expressed my idea clearly ...
but anyway, if someone tries the Church out...there’s a decent chance they’ll find it helps them, is useful to them, has meaning for them, whatever.. and their faith can then grow.

or something like that.
not everyone who joins is already a fully=formed, completely committed believer.
the idea I was trying to express was, they should at least be invited to come in the door and give it a test ride, if you will....
there’s plenty of good stuff, good news if I may use that term, inside the church door.
we just have to find more ways of getting more unchurched people into the door
