Catholic bishops meeting to discuss 'family issues' at a two week summit have said unmarried couples living together can be 'positive', and gay relationships and divorces must be welcomed.
Displaying remarkably liberal attitudes for a Church famed for its conservatism, bishops meeting in the Vatican today also said that a couples' decision on the use of contraception should be respected.

You’re entitled to you opinions, but you should be more accurate in your criticism: Catholics do not worship Mary; they pray for her intercession with God (as they do to numerous other saints). I’m waiting for concrete changes that are problematic, rather than news filtered by liberals; so far this Pope hasn’t changed anything I can see. I personally find John Paul II’s “altar girl” ruling more problematic than anything Francis has done; I don;t think it helped the vocation situation at all.

And as far as the so called “saints” Any Christian is a Saint, a Saint is a follower of Christ

This Pope has said far too much for anybody to at this point to say he has been taken out of context by the liberal media, this is the message he is trying to get across.
Truth of the matter is this, He the Pope can say whatever he likes, but it is not binding on The Lord, he is NOT any closer to the Lord than you or I
Anybody that thanks Jesus for dying on the Cross for their sins, invites Jesus in to be Lord of their life, repents from their sins etc, can be just as close or closer to God than any Pope

Worshiping and asking for intercession are two very different things.
Again, I just await concrete changes from this Pope before I weigh in. If he tries to undo the words of Jesus Christ Himself on matters of marriage/divorce, he will likely be the last Pope the Church can afford to pay - there would be no reason for anyone in the Church to remain. He need only to look at the fate of the “mainstream” Protestant churches since they liberalized on religious matters to see what awaits his own Church.

Is there not a current convocation of Bishops in Rome right now to discuss family issues, or is that just “media spin?” Did this pope not say, “who am I to judge?” when questioned about homosexual conduct? Did he not feign ignorance about an established homosexual organizational presence in the very Vatican itself?

Correction. Pope Francis is a Jesuit, AKA liberal. Hopefully none of this garbage will pass muster. If it does, the Catholic Church just becomes another faith teaching error, and has gone worldly, the way of some liberal protestant faiths. All these worthless Cardinals that Francis has put in positions of authority (and all the ones that drafted the mid Synod report) are as liberal as the day is long. The majority of the attending bishops are not for any of this liberal nonsense.

Until Presbyterian Churches formally oppose ALL contraception use, any kind of pro-familty stance they take is a joke.
Not sure what you little tirade has to do with the PCA, as the article shows the PCA stands firm against all of the changes going on in Rome as we speak.
I've very little experience with the Daily Mail. Think I may have read about 5 articles from them.
Either way, as a non-Catholic mine's a "wait and see" attitude to see what the final product is. I just don't see much value in debating it until that happens. Just my own POV.
Contracepting yourselves out of existence is not exactly consistent with "defending the traditional family."
On another note, however the synod shakes out, no changes have been made yet. It's cold reality however, that Protestant assemblies do not oppose contraception.

I understand where you’re coming from, but I don’t see those people putting money in envelopes ever again. The Church has a hard enough time getting people living in “legitimate” relationships to support them; why would someone who apparently doesn’t fear Hell anyway?
BTW, I have no problem with people who don’t contribute to the Church financially (and I believe the Catholic Church is the one true Church); at the height of its growth those spreading the Word lived simply (as Jesus did). I just don’t see evidence (in my narrow experience) that they need my money more than I do to provide for my family.
