There is a very important industry in Japan, where very young girls and boys are educated, groomed, drilled, and packaged to be the next big musical sensation. Since R & B and Rock Music are not culturally native to Japan, the genre has to be manufactured. This process is called "Idol-Making", and the practice has passed over to the USA. No longer do kids work out guitar riffs in the garage, hoping for "The Big Break". Instant Communications and a huge network provides a steady stream of "idols" who flame briefly and then are discarded when they fall.

A system that creates short term profitable garbage... long term disaster - people will give up buying or caring. "The day the music died" - predictable as American pie...
