He never taught us to pray to anyone but the Father. God the Father that is.

Perhaps you didn't notice but the focus is on Jesus, not Mary...And regardles of whether this was a command for everyone for all time or just those people she was talking to, it may surprise you that the rest of the New Testament also tells us to do what Jesus tells us to do...So if we missed it from Mary, we certainly got it from all through out the rest of the scriptures from various people...
Matthew 5:27-30 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. Do Catholics do that?
Do only non-Catholics have to obey the rules?
