1Jn 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1Jn 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1Jn 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Some religions look at scripture and they run everything together when the bible says to 'rightly divide the word of truth'...You go to Revelation to try to prove something that is not true in another part of the bible...
In Revelation John speaks of churches that need to 'overcome' something...Yet earlier, John writes about a group who have overcome already...
Things that are different are NOT the same...
We as Christians in the church age have overcome the moment we trusted in Jesus to be our Savior...
I have overcome nothing - I deal with the temptations of this world daily and expect this to be the case until I draw my last breath.
For me, I do my best to do God's will (works) daily and walk in His path. I have no idea what tomorrow may bring.
