Lol reminds me of an incident a few years back at a church I attended; at the Christmas Eve service (began about 5 PM) two churchgoers GOT INTO A FISTFIGHT OVER A PARKING SPOT! The pastor wasn’t amused.

I can top that. I knew a guy whose father was run over in the church parking lot after services and was killed. Slow down folks, the football game on TV can wait a little bit longer! Besides, running over people and playing demolition derby in the parking lot probably makes a poor impression on the visitors.

I too find the meet-and-greet routine a bit awkward. A lot of folks are shy.

Once I went to an Easter service at a certain liturgical church. During the prayer and meditation time before the service there was this guy who just wouldn't shut up about the soap opera going on between himself and the car dealership about his brakes.

So I turn around and politely, I think, informed him that no one else was interested in his car stuff and axed him to knock it off.

The dude went into a tirade and invited me to fist city after the service.

So we left.
