Cripplecreek replied: Exactly. As far as I’m concerned, anyone who tries to stir trouble between Protestants and Catholics is no friend of Christianity.

GreyFriar says: AMEN!

Tired&Retired says: Hallelujah

A house divided against itself cannot stand. We are all one. Just as Peter and Paul had to resolve their differences about circumcision and other issues, so do we.

I’m currently reading and studying “Studies in the Spirituality of Jesuits” “Toward a Theological Evaluation of Communal Discernment”, by Ladislas Orsy SJ. Volume V, No. 5 October 1973. It outlines Ignatius methods of decision making in community. Best writing I have found on Biblical decision making. Specifically it outlines the benefits of group decision making where all are God focused for inspiration.

If you gave me all the church leaders of the various faiths for a week in a focused resolution group I feel they would come to consensus.

For me, it’s about understanding the anatomy & physiology of the human soul. When you understand and experience these topics, all the different theories and philosophies of the anatomy & physiology of the human soul we recognize as religions all make sense without discounting the fundamentals of any of them.

As Einstein said, “A problem is not solved at the level of consciousness at which it was created.” Prayer is the tool used to raise our consciousness to a higher level where we can find the solutions to our differences of opinion.

Many years ago I spent a week with the Zen Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. There was a Methodist minister who lived near me that joined in the week long study. At the end of the week the minister made a statement that was like a baseball bat to the side of my head. He stated “After all my years at the pulpit teaching Christianity, I can honestly say that I never fully understood it until now when I am looking at Christianity from a Buddhist perspective.”

Do not criticize others until you examine your own beliefs from their perspective, and even then, don’t criticize them.
