Southern Baptist ethicist Russell Moore and megachurch pastor Rick Warren denounced the sexual revolution at a Vatican conference Tuesday and encouraged Christians to not waver on the Biblical truth about sexuality and marriage.
"Western culture now celebrates casual sexuality, cohabitation, no-fault divorce, family redefinition, and abortion rights as parts of a sexual revolution that can tear down old patriarchal systems," said Moore, who is the president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission during the "Complementarity of Man and Woman" colloquium led by Pope Francis.
"The Sexual Revolution is not liberation at all, but simply the imposition of a different sort of patriarchy," he continued. "The Sexual Revolution empowers men to pursue a Darwinian fantasy of the predatory alpha-male, rooted in the values of power, prestige, and personal pleasure ... We see the wreckage of sexuality as self-expression all around us, and we will see more yet. And the stakes are not merely social or cultural but profoundly spiritual."

Like they would know what they are talking about. I’m not catholic but these two have no room to talk about caving in. Neither am I a fan of this Pope (who looks for the world like Gomer Pyle). Three stooges if you ask me.
almost all our problems today are related to the pursuit of unlimited pleasure....whether it be the un relenting pursuit of body "perfection", or sexual conquests, or drugs, or drink, or even food, gambling...
pleasure at all times....
so why are we surprised that so many just want to not work and collect benefits?....that we have a dwindling Christian population because people do not want to have children/families....and even though the libtards have lectured us constantly about how all rape and violence would disappear if we just had free sex and access to drugs, we still have some animal raping and beating and burning a woman?.....
Why?
bttt
This interreligious conference is a joke...a modernist joke.
I have been critical of him in the past for being soft on cultural issues; but on this he has not wavered. Good for him.
good for Rick Warren. I don’t have a lot of respect for the guy, he just earned a bit of it back.
-— Who cares if they agree on family values!?! -—
Because they’re right?
So you believe Allah and Jehovah are the same God? You believe Homosexuality is “ok” with God? These are what Pope Francis believes. Perhaps the Catholic Church’s Pedophilia problem does no concern you?
Because we have allowed government to define “marriage” for its own purposes (such as taxation and regulation of estates), we have allowed government to define marriage as a social institution. That was fine as long as people in control of government were generally supportive of God’s original definition of marriage. However we have entered a time when a growing number of people in control of government want to redefine marriage for their own purposes, which in part is contrary to God’s definition.
Marriage is now far more a matter of politics and ideology than of private religious beliefs.
Therefore, for the sake of marriage as God defines it, it is time to remove from government the power to define who is married and who is not. Then people could form whatever relationships they please but they could not force those who disagree to be enablers for those relationships. And we would not have schools that must teach that homosexual “marriages” are just as legitimate as heterosexual ones. Nor would we have owners of wedding-related services being threatened with arrest and being convicted of a crime for merely declining to artfully photograph a “marriage” they find morally repugnant.
I’m surprised Warren took this stance; I thought he would cave.
Not on this he's not. If he's helping the anti gay cause more power to him.
Did their churches cave in?
Bill Clinton says he is against abortion
When did he say that?
And what’s the relevance to what
Warren is speaking out about?
>>Why?
Romans 1:25
“..because of this God gave them over..”
Because of what?
Gave them over to what?
People also will, in due time, if not already, blame other people for the consequences of their behavior. I can already see people blaming segments of society for acquiring AIDS.
