If only it had just been indifference. Cynicism might be a sin, but not nearly as sinful as active participation in evil.

The USCCB made it clear that they fully supported 0bamacare from the beginning, the only reservation concerned abortion and contraception. How they believed the government could assume a dictatorial control of insurance programs so complete that literally millions of people would lose their coverage, and that yet somehow the Left would fail to advance its death culture is a complete mystery.

Indeed. The Progressive movement is by its very nature both utilitarian and totalitarian. It's a package. The bishops are mistaken if they believe they can be cafeteria progressives.
