It helps me to remember that Jesus knows that priests ( bishops, cardinals and even popes) are humans and sinners too but yet allows His divine body to be humbled in the appearance of bread so that souls may join Him with The Father in Heaven.

I cannot imagine my life without the Eucharist and would ( and will ) suffer through misguided homilies of wayward clergy to receive it.

God Bless you. I am so happy that you are the happy recipient of the body and blood of Christ. I married my first love after 24 years of estrangement and he is Jewish. I can no longer receive the sacrament and so it is sad for me regardless.

As for the homilies, I am one of those notetakers during Mass. People are always suspicious that I may be a spy. I tell them I like to review what I have learned in church and try to incorporate Christ’s teachings and the interpretation of the clergy all week. I tried to get several priest to let me record their homilies, so that others in our diocese could get the benefit of their wisdom. Unfortunately, no takers.

Have a Blessed Christmas. It’s Advent and I just bought myself a vintage Advent calendar yesterday. It’s always great to celebrate Christ.
