More of what's been lost with the dismantling of the Franciscans of the Immaculate

The following account from a former Franciscans of the Imnaculate (FI) seminarian shows just how purposely destructive the intervention of the FI has been -- at the hands of Commissioner Volpi and approved by Pope Francis:

It was a win, win, win situation:

1) People could give the gift of Christ to family and friends by enrolling them in a Novena of Latin Masses celebrated according to the 1962 Missal;

2) Those enrolled received spiritual graces from the Masses, plus a Christmas novena card and a gift-wrapped CD of sacred music; and

3) The proceeds went to assist the contemplative branch of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in the Sibillini Mountains in Italy… that is until Christmas of last year when their Apostolic Commissioner, Fr. Fidenzio Volpi, expressly stopped the contemplative Friars both from offering the Masses for the Novena and from receiving the donations it brought in. This was a hard blow for the contemplative Friars who depended upon these donations to survive, isolated as they were from the populace [see the video below].

In an attempt to keep the Novena alive and the "win, win, win situation" going, the lay person who had set up the website (i.e. Christopher Wendt at HyperDo Media, Inc.) and those who had taken care of the mailings sought out other priests to offer the Masses (like the monks at Norcia and the chaplain of the Benedictines of Mary) and have been passing the proceeds of this year's Novenas on to a Carmelite hermit in Italy who is dedicated to Adoration and to praying for families.

Their hope is to hook the Novena website up with another traditional community in the near future.Besides signing up family and friends for the Novena, we do well to continue our prayers for the poor Friars -- especially those at the poor, isolated Friary in the Sibillini Mountains.

Why in the world is Pope Francis allowing this persecution of this holy order?

CNN reports: “Pope Francis said on Tuesday that modern slavery is a “crime against humanity” and is “unfortunately becoming worse and worse every day.””

He went on to sign a worthless document with various leaders of false religions decrying “slavery”.

Yet Francis, has his own little wicked slave master: Commissioner Volpi.

Under Francis’ watch, Volpi has stripped the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate of their essence. He has forbidden them from offering the Mass that they love and have trained to offer. He has shut down their publishing house. He has essentially placed their religious leader, Father Stefano Maria Manelli, under house arrest.

Volpi is such an evil slavemaster, he recently approached other bishops to discourage them from accepting those FOTI priests and seminarians who had wished to leave the society and pursue their desires to offer the TLM as diocesan priests.

In my opinion, Francis, himself, is a slavemaster.

In my opinion, you are being kind. Brutally suppressing Holy Mass reeks of the diabolical.

You are misleading the faithful by omitting the followiung very important facts:

Father Bruno explained that the FFI’s problem “is not the Holy Mass usus antiquior [the Mass celebrated according to the 1962 Roman Missal].” He said celebrating the extraordinary form of the Mass in the community represented “only the tip of the iceberg.”

The real concern, Father Bruno said, is over a “small group in power” within the religious congregation, which is under the influence of Mother Francesca Perillo, who oversees the FFI sisters who live in hermitages. Mother Francesca, he alleged, has “very close” ties with groups that take the positions of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, the founder of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), who taught both the Second Vatican Council and the Roman rite promulgated by Pope Paul VI contain grave theological errors. Father Bruno said the FFI is concerned that Mother Francesca and her followers could fall into “heresy and disobedience.”

Mother Francesca could not be reached to respond to the allegations before publication time. The Society of St. Pius X holds no canonical status in the Church. Renewed dialogue between the SSPX and the Vatican appeared to hit another impasse in June, with the society’s declaration that their founder’s reasons for his illicit consecrations of four bishops — which incurred automatic excommunication — still “retain their full justification.” The excommunications were lifted by Benedict XVI in 2009 in a conciliatory effort to facilitate the SSPX’s full integration within the life of the Church.   Truth means the FULL truth. “Father Bruno said the FFI is concerned that Mother Francesca and her followers could fall into “heresy and disobedience.””

So does that also apply to Cardinal Burke?

BTW, “SSPX Already is in ‘Full Communion’, but in a State of ‘Imperfect Reconciliation’.”

Well, Christ Himself said, “By their fruits you will know them.” The fruits of Vatican II have been disastrous, so I’m rather inclined to believe the SSPX’s rationale. Archbishop Lefebre was not the only one to say the Novus Ordo was theologically flawed. Cardinal Ottaviani and others wrote a majorly critical paper predicting the disasters that happened. The SSPX is not wrong. The Modernists just don’t like them pointing out the obvious, namely, that Modernism is heresy. Pope St. Pius X declared it to be so in 1907 and the SSPX is just abiding by the teachings of that Pope. Something is wrong when an encyclical by one Pope is totally disregarded by a subsequent Pope.

The problem is that most post Vatican II Catholics still think it's because Vatican II was just "ambiguous" and "unclear" and subsequently misinterpreted. Sound familiar?
