Let’s look at those last 4 lines again:

“therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.”

Obviously, you don’t believe in asking Mary or the saints for intercession in prayer. That’s fine. But, my point was that we’re not praying to them as if they’re gods themselves. We’re asking for prayer, just as someone might ask other people for prayer.

Excellent explanation of my own feelings.

“Mary was favored with grace but NOT full of grace like Jesus and Stephen were. “

But, but, but! The Hail Mary prayer says she is full of grace!!! /s

Messing with genetics?

The book of Revelation comes to mind.

I suppose it would be a question for believers to wonder if the creatures created that way are really even human or would have a soul.

This sort of thing is one of the things that has me convinced that we are in the end times.

With stuff like that happening, and where you can see it leading when you follow it through logically, leads me to believe that God would not permit that to happen.

The only option at that point, is to bring down the curtain and put an end to it.

There’s some speculation that this is part of what happened with the Flood.

Scripture tells us that Noah was perfect in his generations. It also mentions that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, had relations with them, and a race of giants was the result.

So some have thought that Noah being perfect in his generations, might have meant that he was physically perfect, genetically, fully human, untainted by whatever it was that had happened.

It’s an interesting theory and I find it plausible. But there’s simply not enough information given in Scripture about it to make any hard and fast statements.

That's the commandment the Catholics leave out.

Where are you getting this false information?

Catholics don't bow down to OR serve strange Gods.

Funny how that happens.

Like this verse...

Ecclesiasties 10:2 A wise man’s heart inclines him to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left.

The verse in Exodus 20 says to have no other gods before God and then God goes on to tell them to not make carved images and bow down to OR serve them.

So Catholics can play semantic games all they want by redefining words and holding to their version of the letter of the Law, but bowing is bowing.

Yeah, that’s another good one!

God certainly has a way of knowing exactly everything in every time period and addresses it accordingly.

That’s for sure and that’s what sets Scripture apart from all other works.

Sometimes I just love God’s sense of humor.

You have all the answers. I’m not wasting my time.

This is from ya'll's own encyclopedia.....not a non-catholic source.

It's impossible continue to justify this teaching based on this information and I think deep inside you know this.

It boggles my mind why catholics cling so dearly to this when it is evidenced it is based on a false hood.

Yep. If we can laugh at things God does, just imagine how much He must laugh at us. (LOL)

“And as always, when you apparently can’t make an argument that actually sticks, you start citing other folks positions and explanations;”

An appeal to an authority or an example of common opinion is supportive of an argument. You offer nothing but your opinion - which is opposed by most other Protestants (e.g. regarding “sleep”). That means I’m still proving more than you are.

“and then make a genral assertion without basis.”

According to you. But your opinion is worthless - even according to many other Protestants.

“That seems to work for the Low Info Voters; too.”

Except you just described yourself.

“Mary is the mother of Jesus the man, she is not the mother of Jesus who is God.”

Is Jesus one person or two?

“When she was given the child Jesus within her womb by the Holy Spirit Jesus already existed.”

We all know that.

“Stop being ridiculous.”

Let’s see who’s being ridiculous: Is Jesus one person or two?

One of two possibilities as I see it.

Either it’s the power of deception.

Or they’d have to admit that they were wrong and have been wrong all this time. And if that was wrong, it would open up the possibility that there are other things the Catholic church could also be wrong about.

The whole house of cards would come tumbling down.

“I’m curious from catholics on this board how they can defend the “immaculate conception” based on the following.
Catholic church admits immaculate conception cannot be found in Scripture.”

And I have heard some Protestant admit that sola scriptura is not in scripture. So what’s your point?

Where does scripture teach that all true things are in scripture explicitly?

“I pray our catholic friends to examine this teaching critically and come out of the false teaching of the catholic church.”

I pray our Protestant attackers, who pretend to be our friends, examine their false teachings started by men in the sixteenth century and come out of the false sects of Protestantism.

What falsehood? You mean that sola scriptura straw man that's erected? Truth be told I shrug my shoulders. If protestants want to sever the Deposit of Faith that's their problem. It's not a Catholic one. My response is, "Hate it for you. But you made your bed, you now have to lie in it."

Where's the direct, categorical and stringent proof text for the Trinity? for the Nature of Christ? Cherry picking a piece of scripture which "alludes" to the Trinity is not sufficient since it fails the direct, categorical and stringent test.

P.S.: Where is the direct, categorical and stringent proof text that authorizes the protestant to engage in artificial contraception?

Jesus is fully man and fully God...he is more than just a man.

I am fully man but I am not God. I am just one person but Jesus is more he is God.

Did Jesus exist before Mary was born?

Was Jesus God before Mary existed?

If Jesus existed before Mary and if Jesus was God before Mary existed, Mary is not the mother of God.

Sorry; but you've have seen by now the MANY prayers TO Mary; posted in this thread; for all KINDS of powers that ONLY GOD has.

No, I've seen prayers that YOU yourself have posted that I myself am not familiar with. If those prayers you posted are indeed said by other Catholics, you are misunderstanding/misinterpreting them. Catholics do not believe that Mary is endowed with special powers as a god would be.
