The thief to whom Jesus said “You will be with me this day in paradise”, for one; his sins were forgiven him.

Also, anyone whose sins are forgiven under the Sacrament of Reconciliation, after actual repentance, and who does not again sin after said forgiveness.

You are not a criminal...you were not crucified.

You too will be in Paradise with Jesus at the moment of your death (provided you are devout...and I have confidence that you are).

This purgatory stuff is BS. It brought money into the Church when it was needed...but it was still BS.

Because he had a Baptism of Desire.

Some people will call it a Baptism of Blood.

Both are just a legit as a Baptism with water and the Holy Spirit.
