While many make bold statements (not on this thread) that the Holy Bible or the Holy Spirit is the only authority for them, those statements, while generally true, don’t seem to hold up in execution. Rather, it is the opinion of many different men and women, as to what the Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible are telling them. Thus there is confusion among the myriad of denominations of Protestants. Instead of just making the accusation, why don't you provide examples of said *confusing doctrines*?
