But those beliefs or items are not self-refuting.
The problem with “sola Scriptura” is not merely that it isn’t in Scripture. The problem is that because of what it asserts, it MUST be in Scripture in order for it to be true.
Since it is not in Scripture, it CAN’T be true.
And, since “sola Scriptura” CAN’T be true, none of the items on your list can be suspect merely because they aren’t in Scripture.
yeah, they can all be proven and authenticated and have been for 2,014 years. If fallen away Catholics would spend 10% of the time authenticating the teachings of the church(very easy to do) that they do trying to find made up, self satisfying, self justifying reasons that they can't live up to Catholic standards...they'd be far better off aand probably very good and learned Catholics. When people reject their American citizenship, you'll hear a zillion perceived evils and a zillion different misguided opinions on everything from Hiroshima to jaywalking simply to justify their inane decision.
the list that you posted contains many teachings of not only Catholicism, but Christianity in general.....I mean..The Trinity....come on now, if your religious education has to begin at that level, you'll never even be an altar girl muchless the Pope.
too much time spent on trying to justify establishing your own idea of what the truth of Christianity is can be very dangerous...you don't have a couple of thousand years to iron out the rough spots...the Catholic church did it for you and they are RIGHT, not part of the time...ALL of the time
