A graven image would be an idol, held equal to God.

Act through Mary

48. 3. We must never go to our Lord except through Mary, using her intercession and good standing with him. We must never be without her when praying to Jesus. http://www.ewtn.com/library/Montfort/SECRET.HTM

I've got news for you....Any believer can go to Christ whenever they want to.

SHEER UTTER BLASPHEMY FROM CATHOLICISM

St. Anselm reminds us that we may obtain mercy more quickly from Mary than from Jesus, because Jesus is also a judge who can punish, while Mary exercises mercy as a patroness. It is not as if Mary were more powerful than Jesus, for we know that Jesus Christ is our only Savior, and that He alone by His merits has obtained and obtains salvation for us.

He reminds us: "We often obtain more promptly what we ask by invoking Mary than by invoking Jesus. Her Son is lord and judge of all, and discerns the merits of each one; therefore, if He does not immediately grant the prayers of all, He is just. When however, the Mother's name is invoked, [pg. /113] though the merits of the suppliant are not such as to deserve that his favor be granted, those of the Mother supply, that he may receive.".

Many things are asked from God and are not granted; they are asked from Mary and are obtained. Now why is this? Because God has thus decreed to honor His Mother. ... source: the glories of mary .

So if Jesus says no to your prayer....go tell on Him to mama and she will make Him answer the prayer???? So why aren't catholics asking for millions and millions....mama will get it for you.

SHEER UTTER BLASPHEMY

The Bible, you remember the Bible don't you...catholics claim to have written it, tells us we don't receive because we ask with the wrong motives.

These are just a few of the blasphemous statements catholics have made regarding the catholic version of Mary and her "abilities" that are either equal to, or greater than, those of Christ.

While you searched, it appeared you came up with “damning evidence.” In reality, you missed the most important sentence: “In other words, we must become an instrument in Mary’s hands for her to act in us and do with us what she pleases, for the greater glory of her Son; and through Jesus for the greater glory of the Father.”

Any believer can go before Holy Trinity, no questions asked. However, St. Louis is demonstrating Mary is an excellent model, as she was the first to recognize Jesus as the Messiah (at the Annunciation), and the only believer to be with him until the end. That is a pretty darn good example.

Regarding “To Thee do We Cry,” the next sentence, which you chose not to quote is really important. So, here it is for you (page 112 in my version, freely available from Google):

Meaning, that we more easily find salvation by having recourse to the Mother than by going to the Son — not as if Mary was more powerful than her Son to save us, for we know that Jesus Christ is our only Saviour, and in that He alone by his merits has obtained and obtains salvation for us ; but it is for this reason : that when we have recourse to Jesus, we consider Him at the same time as our Judge, to whom it belongs also to chastise ungrateful souls, and therefore the confidence necessary to be heard may fail us ; but when we go to Mary, who has no other office than to compassionate as as Mother- of mercy, and to defend us as our advocate, our confidence is more easily established, and is often greater.”

What St. Alphonso is trying to teach, is how people perceive and relate to the Blessed Mother. He quotes several saints, and some people whom I don’t recognize. However, please read above: not as if Mary was more powerful than her Son to save us, for we know that Jesus Christ is our only Saviour, and in that He alone by his merits has obtained and obtains salvation for us;

How do you feel about the personal interaction between Jesus and Mother Mary, and its result, in the Gospel account of the Marriage Feast at Cana?

de Montfort has written many books, compiled under the title, "God Alone" as in, God alone suffices. There are those who choose to follow his motto of, "to Jesus, through Mary." If such a thing leads a soul to Jesus, isn't it a good thing? Isn't that important? It was through Mary that God made Jesus man. de Montfort's is one way to Jesus: but isn't being led to Christ the desire of the Christian for himself and others?

God bless you!
