The man is a socialist. (Sorry if I upset Catholic FReepers).

And thus an enthusiastic shill for the "green" movement. The anti- "climate change" and anti-capitalism agendas are intertwined.

“Who mentioned “encyclical”?”

The article that opened the thread. Didn’t you read it?

“I’m sorry that you, like Francis, have fallen for the “global warming” or is that “climate change” hoax.”

I don’t believe in the hoax. Never have. Care to post some other false claim and ascribe something to me that I don’t actually believe in?

“To me, it shows a lack of faith in the omnipotence of God.”

Whatever it shows to you is unimportant. When a man can’t deal with issues honestly and reasonably, he is doomed in any case.

Speaking not merely outside his expertise (I think his expertise is in Spanish poetry or something like that)

That is Cardinal O'Malley's area of study.

“Why would anyone reading this thread think you were being sarcastic?”

Because I was clearly being sarcastic. Again, YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO APPARENTLY DIDN’T PICK UP ON IT.

“Or are you invoking God’s name in vain to be sarcastic?”

I believe the Holy Spirit protects the Church. I believe He does it in way we don’t necessarily expect. If you have problems with that, then they are yours to deal with.

I don’t believe in the hoax.

Not according to your Post #3. You even pointed to the Holy Ghost as your back-up.

“Not according to your Post #3. You even pointed to the Holy Ghost as your back-up.”

Nope. Not even close. You can continue to make things up I never said or twist things I did say, but you’re wrong in any case.

Absolutely they are intertwined.

I can make it another decade. Pope Francis knows he can’t.

To me, the above statement appears to be the statement of a selfish tree hugger; not a sarcastic comment.

However, if you were truly mocking the Pope for his envirowackiness, please come out and admit it.

Which is it? Are you a tree-hugger or were you mocking the Pope?

Quoting you in full context is not “twisting” anything.

‘But as the Vicar of Christ, Francis need to show some discretion in his edicts’.

Absolutely true. Pray that he does.

“Being pope does not mean you know everything about everything”

True, but being over 25 SHOULD mean you know to keep your mouth shut when the topic is one where you know nothing worth saying. Francis is like a 14 year old Pope...

“To me, the above statement appears to be the statement of a selfish tree hugger; not a sarcastic comment.”

And you’re wrong. Here’s the proof from another thread just today!: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/3241259/posts?page=11#11

“However, if you were truly mocking the Pope for his envirowackiness, please come out and admit it.”

I will continue to post any way I wish within the rules. The best thing for someone to do before posting in response to someone else’s post is to think first. It isn’t that hard to do. Also, I wasn’t “mocking the Pope”. I was making a sarcastic comment about how this would keep the pope from being involved with other things - and it will. It will also amount to nothing - but only intelligent people can see that.

“Which is it?”

It is exactly what I said it is and nothing more or less.

“Are you a tree-hugger or were you mocking the Pope?”

Neither. I don’t hug trees and I wasn’t mocking the pope. I was making a sarcastic remark about him spending time on something useless.

So the Socialist Left is admitting that global climate beliefs are religious?

“Quoting you in full context is not “twisting” anything.”

Really? You wrote, “But according to your Post #3 above, you seem more concerned about trees and melting icebergs.”

Where in post #3 did I mention “trees” or “melting icebergs”?

I asked you think in post #47 and you didn’t answer. I ask again, where in post #3 did I mention “trees” or “melting icebergs”?

Will you answer now?

The environmental movement is very dangerous. The Pope spending time on this is not "useless"; it's very toxic. And it should not be encouraged.

“I’ve answered you twice. Give it a rest.”

Actually you NEVER ONCE ANSWERED ME AS TO “Where in post #3 I mentioned “trees” or “melting icebergs”.

This is simple for everyone to see because the word “trees” and “melting icebergs” never once appear in Post #3.

You made a false claim. I called you on it and you never once provided any proof for what you claimed.

That’s right. I get my bishops who abuse their authority mixed up.

The pope and the Vatican seem deliberately unaware of the genocide of Christians in Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and other places. The pope is treasonous ignoring what is going on. The band plays on .... Christianity is targeted for destruction by Islamic jihadists. Better wake up. It is here in America already. See “beheading” in the news.

I am struggling with a lot of what is going on in the Church right now.

Looked at long term Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular are targeted for destruction. Most of it is self-destruction as if the devil is on the loose. Catholics, Pope included, are just letting it happen. Destructive behavior runs rampant.
