The Challenge of the New Year(Catholic Prophecy)
The Next Right Step ^ | Jan 1, 2014 | Charlie Johnston

I meant everything I wrote in my last post about the Consecration of Russia. I believe it is accomplished and was fully accepted. But it would not surprise me or be at all inconsistent with how God works if the consecration turned out to be ongoing – and that there was to be a final consecration of Russia individually by name before the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart. What I know is that God always accomplishes His will, sometimes through our stumbling efforts, sometimes despite them. So I don’t worry much about it.

Truth is, I had an ulterior motive. I have been deeply concerned with the visitation I briefly referenced from the early morning hours of December 20. In part of it I saw a great multitude of demons, spewing up as if from a great fountain and spreading across the whole earth. Their primary target in this year, knowing their time is short, are those who are most overtly pious and faithful. If they can cause despair here, they can destroy many. Their primary method of causing despair is to reveal to the most overtly pious that things are not as they thought they were. Think here of the crucifixion. The apostles were scattered, for even though Jesus had warned them of this, it is not what they expected. They expected the triumphant re-establishment of a temporal kingdom. I frankly think even Judas thought that all his betrayal would do was force Christ to reveal His mighty power and establish the kingdom while putting the Romans to rout. This is why Judas despaired and killed himself: things were not like he thought and so he despaired of God, rather than of his own misinterpretation. Think of the pious friends of Job. They kept defending God’s honor to Job, who kept challenging and complaining of God. In the end, God was so angry with Job’s friends that He would not even hear their prayer – but made them go and ask Job to pray that they be forgiven. I saw that even the greatest are going to be sifted like wheat in the coming year, shown that some things are not as they think. Because of it, some will despair of God.

Within the Church there is great freedom. You are not obliged to believe anything except that which is definitively revealed through Scripture and the Magisterium – and the Church is the authentic teacher of those truths. And on these things, it always irritates me to hear the phrase, “obliged to believe,” for in truth, we are actually privileged to know these things with certainty. On matters that have not been definitively taught, we are allowed room to ponder, study, speculate and propose what we will, so long as it does not lead people away from the safety of the faith. On matters of private revelation, even of approved private revelation, we are permitted to follow or ignore them as we will. The speculations of many saints and theologians have enriched the Church’s depth of understanding of the things of Christ through the ages. Every approved private revelation was once not approved…a few were even briefly condemned. These have enriched our understanding of how to respond to Christ’s invitation to salvation in particular times and places.

KEYWORDS:
Catholic prophecy differs considerably from Protestant Prophecy. However, there are current protestant prophets who agree significantly with current Catholic prophecy at this time. Moreover, the bulk of what Catholic prophecy has to say about this time was written by Catholic saints, mystics and prophets hundreds of years ago, whom agree symphonically as to a sequence of events for this time.

Within Catholic prophecy(Eschatology: The study of the end times) we are entering the edge or beginning of the end times. The "end times" being a long period of time punctuated by two eras. This beginning period is known as the "little chastistement" where man suffers punishment primarily as a result of his sin(our heinous sins) and lack of faith in God. The lack of faith in God causes us to be no longer blessed nor protected by God. Earth and nature groans and a certain portion of what is in the Book of Revelation will be fulfilled soon. Namely the 7 seals and it will be worldwide.

In Catholic Eschatology(Catholic Prophecy) "little chastistement" is followed by the "big chastisement" some time later(not our lifetimes) which could properly be called the "Apocolypse".

Like a spiral, the book of Revelation sweeps through every generation, every century, being fulfilled on one level or another, in one region or another, until it will finally be fulfilled on a global level. Hence, Pope Benedict said recently in an interview:

The Book of Revelation is a mysterious text and has many dimensions… the striking aspect of Revelation is precisely that it is just when one thinks the end is truly now upon us that the whole things starts again from the beginning. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, Light of the World, The Pope, the Church, and the Signs of the Time-An Interview with Peter Seewald, P. 182

I read the Birch book many years ago and thought it was excellent.

I'm just curious: What do you make of the events that occurred at Garabandal, Spain in 1964? I have many reservations about Medjugorie, but the Garabandal seers have been willing to live lives of obscurity and and humility in line with more traditional seers. They have not, to my knowledge promoted teachings that violate the faith.

They seem to have foretold the time of agonizing confusion and loss of faith that we are living through. One must of course exercise great caution with private revelations. I'm not here to promote anything, just wondering what you knew about it. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I have been hoping that The Warning (or something like it) will occur soon. People of our time lack even a residual sense of the supernatural. Consciences seem increasingly dulled. Preaching and exhortation fall on deaf ears. No one seems to care abut the truth. All the usual means of calling people back to God seem ineffectual. One wishes that God Almighty would intervene directly Himself....Well, all we can do is live right and pray.

you might want to read through all/most of Charlie Johnstons blog. He is a mystic of some sorts.

As to Garabandal, I think it has failed with the death of Joey Lomangino. However, Padre Pio is on the record of talking favorably about it, he is also on the record for saying that the Devil entered it. Most of these statements are usually 2nd hand and without dates so its all hard to discern properly. However, there are many prophets who talk of a Warning or illumination, however there are none that talk of an associated miracle as in the Miracle of Garabandal that is supposed to happen within 1 year of the Warning. Garabandal has failed in several respects, firstmost one of the predictions is that Pio would see the Miracle. Well he never lived to see that day. But a priest/monk from his order said that he had a vision of the Miracle....kind of dicey, but you never really know. there will be a Warning/Illumination, its solid prophecy, but it may not be assoc. with Garabandal or with this time.

However, a world wide storm is approaching!

Charlie Johnston states the Waring that it is ongoing being fulfilled—you can’t really argue with that...as you and I and others are becoming aware. His thoughts on prophecy are best noted about Christ and his mother. No one at Jesus time who knew the scriptures well could tell he was the Christ through scriptures, even when Symeon said to Mary at the Presentation, that even her her would be pierced by a sword.

Well, then never was a sword, but the prophecy has been fulfilled spiritually or emotionally. Prophecy may not always be what you think it is. Things that seem literal, may be fulfilled at a different level. Even the literal appearance or return of Elijah before the messiah, was not what it seemed.

I believe it [the Consecration of Russia] is accomplished and was fully accepted.

I stopped reading right there. He's wrong. Just look at the Russia-Ukraine religious "conflict".

George Soros and the fascist crony capitalists are leaders of a religion but Ukraine isn't a religious war.

Come on, religion is something people are trying to put into play in Ukraine, especially the non-Nazi Nazi boyz, but it's not the cause of, primary factor in, or major focus of, the fight in Ukraine. Religion is a minor but convienent propaganda tool, one both sides weave into the usual noise from time to time.

Whether or not Russia has been properly consecrated is open to question but Ukraine is not an example of a religious conflict by any stretch of the imagination. Well, unless you want to cry and whine about the poor little Muzzie Tartars in Crimea not having their butts kissed the way the Ukraine government kissed it.

Thanks for the link to Charlie Johnston's blog. I had never heard of him, but he seems like a level-headed, humble and prayerful man.

Can you give me a source verifying St Pio's assertions about the devil and Garabandal? I've heard of no such thing. Mother Theresa was also friends with Conchita Gonzales and visited her in the US.

FWIW, your man Charlie has a favorable view of Garabandal. He has expressed himself on the matter twice since Lomangino's death:

I believe Garabandal is authentic, Spikenard. But I believe it is almost always misinterpreted. (Dec 30, 2014 11:05 PM)

Though the Church has not confirmed Garabandal (nor condemned it), I personally believe it to be entirely authentic.(July 24, 2014)
Ultimately, I agree with Charlie that no private revelations are obligatory and that all demand a certain level of scepticism.

I guess when the Greek Catholic crowd was harassing the Roman Catholics there that was all good, right?

Sure, whatever you say, the Catholics I know with Catholic family members still in Crimea are full of it.
