The issue Rnmom was addressing was not whether someone was a Christian or not, but the Jesus they believed in. And again, if someone is working for their salvation, then they can't become saved because works to NOT attain salvation.
Fact is, I have a born-again friend that I guarantee you that you cannot pass his test for being Christian. Guaranteed. So, I guess because he is an extremely faithful, knowledgeable, and judgmental Christian he can hold you as a unrepentant sinner incapable of being a Christian.
So what?
I don't answer to him.
“but the Jesus they believed in.”
That is such a copout. There is only one Jesus and to try to claim someone else has invented another is nothing more than judgmental lunacy. So, according to that logic, I won’t claim you don’t worship Jesus, I’ll just claim you worship a different Jesus. Nuthouse Lawyerisms.
“but the Jesus they believed in.”
Also according to that logic there must be millions of Jesus figures are no one who believes in such lunacy agrees that another person meets their definition of a follower of Christ. Therefore, all those millions of other people must follow a different Jesus, so planet must have been full of Jesus figures like Santa Clauses at the mall at Christmas.
