My own take is that people of conscience are not allowed to carry arms, only people WITHOUT a conscience will carry them. That’s the clincher for me.

Besides, I’m retired military. The question for me was not if I could act in self-defense while in uniform, but if I could and should do it as a civilian with a personal weapon.

My wife and I have decided that we can. The rest is building up the logistics, permissions, and know-how before we acquire our first firearm.

Best of luck sorting through the logistics, etc. Buying your first gun is difficult ... so many decisions. Buying your second gun is easier ... the first gun was lonely, after all.

Then you lock them up together in a dark cabinet, and they start reproducing ...
