Radical Feminism is Assaulting the Church, Says Cardinal
The Catholic Herald (UK) ^ | 1/7/15

Cardinal Burke said the Church had become feminised in an interview this week

The Catholic Church has been assaulted by radical feminism, leading to the marginalisation of men, an American cardinal has said.

Cardinal Raymond Burke, patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, said that the rise in the influence of radical feminism had distracted the Church, causing her to address women’s issues to the detriment of men.

In an interview with NewEmangelisation.com the outspoken cardinal said: “I think there has been a great confusion with regard to the specific vocation of men in marriage and of men in general in the Church during the past 50 years or so. It’s due to a number of factors, but the radical feminism which has assaulted the Church and society since the 1960s has left men very marginalised.

“Unfortunately, the radical feminist movement strongly influenced the Church, leading the Church to constantly address women’s issues at the expense of addressing critical issues important to men; the importance of the father, whether in the union of marriage or not; the importance of a father to children; the importance of fatherhood for priests; the critical impact of a manly character; the emphasis on the particular gifts that God gives to men for the good of the whole society.”

He continued: “The goodness and importance of men became very obscured, and for all practical purposes were not emphasised at all. This is despite the fact that it was a long tradition in the Church, especially through the devotion of St Joseph, to stress the manly character of the man who sacrifices his life for the sake of the home, who prepares with chivalry to defend his wife and his children and who works to provide the livelihood for the family. So much of this..........

Burke knows what's at stake and has gone on the offensive. He's giving interviews at the rate of one/week.

I hope the Pope reads this and listens to what it says.

Its not just the Church. Feminism is a corrosive force for all of Western culture.

Now THERE’S some Church teaching I can get behind!! A nice break from their politically correct, communist brainwashing. It’s about time!

You see more and more women doing tasks that were once the bailiwick of men: lectors and servers. The only thing lay men still do is take up collections with the baskets.

It will be very telling to see how the Church treats Cardinal Burke after this.

From Google
*feminism:
the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.
I don't see anything corrosive about THAT definition of feminism. Why would it be so bad to have men and women equal on those grounds?

We'll never really know the whole truth since our lamestream media tells us exactly how much/little they want us to know.
THEY control the discourse and one can't know all the truth unless one goes to such sites as Catholic Answers or Catholic Online. THEN people read "bias" in what the first and oldest universal Church in the world says.

ARRRGGGHH!! You’re right! It’s especially obvious in light of their current sport of taking the Pope’s comments out of context and presenting them as new and improved Church doctrine.

We all need to stand up for men and stop the feminism stuff. Start by asking your priest or bishop to cease having altar girls.

"Radical Feminism is Assaulting the Church, Says Cardinal "

It seems a bit late to recognize that.

Simply put women are not the equal of men. They have never demonstrated the leadership, scientific, artistic, economic or political accomplishments of men. Sorry its genetically and biologically just the way it is. Darwinian law is cruel and exacting. You are deluded if you have bought into the corrosive fraud of feminism. Have to stop typing now, wife is calling.

The lamestream media has LOATHED Catholics and Evangelicals for a long time. They detest our moral and faith ABSOLUTES because...who knows.

The Catholic Church has been around 2000 years and the men who have run the Church are just men, just sinners like the rest of us. Jesus left us with His legacy through the FIRST pope, Peter, the ROCK on whom Jesus built His Church.
PETER denied Jesus THREE times. Yet, he repented, went to Rome and died on Vatican Hill, being crucified upside down.

The Catholic Church has MORE than just Scripture. She has Apostolic Tradition as well. But, I don't want to set off the Catholic faith-hating posts so I'll leave it there.

That won't EVER happen. However, I agree with you 100%.
Some churches use WOMEN servers because of the dearth of available children.

I think as the pendulum moves more to the right that it will happen.

In other words, there will be big families again.

They are not equal, the Bible tells us that it was the woman who was deceived, the man was not deceived but tempted.

If the woman can easily be deceived in Church matters she can be deceived in political, social, and economic matters.

I have known a woman in Church who I thought had more common sense regarding scripture than most men but they are few and far between

While there are women who are exceptions, we can not survive on exceptions.

I Don`t know where it says that.

1 Timothy 2
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
