He had to have laughed himself silly over that one. Have you seen all the weird species native to Australia? Just wow! Kind of like there were spare parts and He just put them together! The birds are funny too! That would be a cool place to visit!

My Mother went there about 20 years ago. She Loved it! One of the best trips she ever went on.

To me the word of God is not up for negotiation and don’t tell me you don’t know what I talking about.

I would never say that, I will just say: You are wrong.

Have a good day.

Good to know. I think it would be a great place to go. I mean it’s exotic, yet the people speak English, well sort of. :)

You bet that God does hear NINE days of prayer for anyone!

Living proof. My wife did a number of them for me over the years.

If your butt is in Church and you are praying and engaging in religious activities, you sure are going to be in less danger of letting your flesh get your spirit in trouble.

I will tell you this. They are remarkable bigoted against the Japanese there. Still bitter about several things to do with WWII. She went on a carriage ride and when she asked the price the drive said: “Americans, English and French, $10, Germans $12, Japaneses $15.

And if you complete the quote, he listed also *Church teaching and Holy Communion*.

I know that. You don't believe in either of those. I was trying to emphasize prayer and Scripture, which is our common ground. We both believe in that, don't we? Why do you think that dying is the only way to conquer the flesh? You yourself said:

"The Word of God is living and active."

Would it not follow that His Word would help you to conquer problems in your spiritual life? I know I certainly have them.

God bless you!

He and His Apostles ate grain off the stalks on the Sabbath. That was a sin to the Jews, too. The Pharisees called them on it.

No, that was called a sin according to the Pharisaical tradition. Not Torah. That Yeshua paid no mind to the tradition of the Pharisees (in fact, he attacked it incessantly) is no surprise - But He cannot have broken Torah, nor, if they were true, could His disciples have broken Torah, lest each and every one who did were false prophets.

Humans are made in God’s image. We are three parts, Body (flesh), soul (mind, will and emotions), and spirit (eternal core) and the spirit and the flesh war after the soul. When we accept Christ our spirit and soul are united in eternal Salvation. Simple.

Let me know what it is and I’ll do the Novena with you.

A Novena is a series of prayers Catholics pray over 9 days hoping to get something they want.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Matthew 6:7 (KJV)

protestants would not have Scripture if it weren’t for the Catholic Church preserving it.

Protestants and Catholics would not even have access to Scripture if it were not for the Reformation.

I read through the post several times in order to clearly understand the author’s points. I have found that there is a greater understanding of this discussion.

Everything is consciousness or spirit, even our physical bodies are a creation of consciousness by our consciousness. It is what gives life to matter. The problem is that the physical body and the consciousness relating to it is the lowest frequency of consciousness within our soul or spirit. It is very difficult to raise our consciousness to a higher level while we are still attached to a physical body for all the reasons mentioned in the article.

Everything that Jesus taught us was about how to let go of the attachments of our lower physical consciousness that act as anchors or ballast and raise us up to a higher level. In order to do this, Our Father sent us the Helper Consciousness of the Holy Spirit to lift us up. This Holy Spirit is also referred to as the Light as any higher consciousness is always perceived by a lower consciousness as Light. (It’s the same reason that the Danish atomic physicist, Niels Bohr who discovered the orbitals of electrons around the nucleus of an atom showed that they give off a photon as they come to a lower orbital level.)

Whether you are speaking of the flesh or the nature of the spirit relating to the flesh does not matter as when a person is alive the two act as one.

What people do not realize is that with each level of consciousness associated with the various levels of the physical body, that consciousness can either be turned and focused upward to a higher level or it can be spilled outward causing addiction or dependency. To the extent consciousness is spilled outward it is used up and not available to raise to higher levels which are closer to perceiving and experiencing God.

Further, an individuals perception of reality changes as they raise their consciousness. Children have a pure consciousness but it is very low in frequency. Our mission is to raise our consciousness to higher levels and keep it pure. We truly are seeds planted here to grow. The parable of the tares in the wheat in Matthew 13 and the explanation of it told by Jesus to His disciples clearly explains this.

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink (John 6:53-55).

I get constant static about this "Jesus Flesh and Blood" part of Holy Communion by one of the Protestants who says that it's a SIN to eat flesh and drink blood. He's a cantankerous, cynical grouchy old bear, anyway, who doesn't like my uberCatholic posts AT ALL. Oh well.

I've saved this Scripture from John and will drag it out if I ever encounter him again. I AVOID those anti-Catholic-posts. I just let them FLOAT right past my eyes.

Thank you for posting it.

I knew a priest that grew up in Poland and he had to hide that he was studying to be a priest because of the Soviets. He was ordained by John Paul, right before he became Pope. When the cold war was over he came to America.

The crazy thing was that his mother was an American citizen from Chicago, She had moved to Poland before the Soviets took over and she got stuck there. Anyway he has a lot of relatives in Chicago. I met him in Fort Wayne Indiana. He was a little mad that they kept putting him in Polish speaking parishes as he was trying to improve his English. He said the Soviets made them learn Russian. They were not allowed to learn English even though the Soviets taught their own kids English. Any way he was a really cool priest.
