Cry for his soul if you must, but understand that the sin of a man who leads the flock on earth is the Greatest of sins in the eyes of God.

Do not continue to defend him, or you will condemn your soul to his fate.

He is Jesus’s representative on earth and has abandoned him. He is supposed to show us what it is to live Christ’s path.

He isn’t Jesus, that is understood, he is a human so he has the weaknesses of humans.

But when time an time again he doesn’t follow the path, then he has abandoned the path.

I am most definitely a practicing Catholic. You assume far too much in several area it would seem.

Are you Catholic? If so, are you a practicing Catholic, faithful to the Teaching Magisterium?

Do you worship the building and the bureaucracy or do you worship God?

You mean that you do not even know what a practicing Catholic is? If you knew, you would not be asking me such a question.

Again, you assume...

I have the peace that passes all understanding from the LORD, Jesus Christ.

Out of curiosity, is English your native language?

If Comrade Pope spake it, then it is the word and is to be obeyed without discussion under the penalty a $hitload of Hail Marys and Our Fathers along with your “green tithe”.

I really don't like attacks on others' faith here on FR.

We all know global warming aka climate change is pure bullshit and merely a ruse to force more goobermint control down our throats and up our posteriors.

I'm not a Catholic (I'm agnostic) but I do respect the Pope and the Catholic religion.

If the Pope is really supporting the reality of "climate change" crapola I find that very deeply disturbing - and scary.

What a very nice post! Thank you. Please be aware that the press is doing everything it can to make people believe about Pope Francis what they (the press) want to believe about him. Also, please understand that the Church has always taught that we must be good stewards of the natural beauty that we believe the Creator has given us. As an agnostic, I’m sure you can see this as good logical thinking...that we should take good care of our environment. HOW we do this is what remains as the root problem...particularly as there are those of a Marxist bent who wish to manipulate the issue in a way that grants them great authoritarian power over us all.

To discover more accurately what the Pope says, I highly recommend that you do not automatically accept what you find comes from the mass media, but research more accurate accounts. There are several websites that work at this, but one of the best is the following: http://jimmyakin.com/2015/01/the-weekly-francis-12-january-2015.html

Mr. Akin, the blogger there, does an excellent weekly roundup of everything that Francis has said or written and then examines how the press has reported it. The differences are often astounding. As a sort of test, look here to see what Pope Francis had to say yesterday about the redefinition of marriage...and then let’s see what the press does with this information: http://vaticaninsider.lastampa.it/en/the-vatican/detail/articolo/francesco-filippine-38588/

[My guess is that they will ignore it...and only report what appeals to them.]

May you have a wonderful week, jimt! ;-)

I’m catholic, and I agree with you.

This pope is playing politics. In Argentina he was a big fish in a little socialist pond. He plays politics there and he is now doing it from the Vatican.

Building the keystone pipeline or driving an SUV are now sins.

Just a heads up, Jim T: Jimmy Akin is the last person you should turn to if you want to learn about Catholicism. Akin is a yes man for Modernists.
