I, for one, have no problem with the way Lutherans worship. In fact I worshipped at a Lutheran church for a year because there was no Reformed option.
The difference between them and Roman Catholicism is like day and night. They preached Sola Fide, they didn't believe in transubstantiation and Mary was not trotted out as Co-Redemptrix. Pretty significant differences.
I'd say you were right about that. People who are unlearned/ignorant about God's word and who are unstable - a double-minded man is unstable in ALL his ways - will try to wrest and twist Scripture rather than be in submission to its authority and obey God. It will lead to their destruction, just as Peter said.
A. O my God, I believe nothing except what my own private judgment tells me to believe; therefore I believe that I can interpret Thy written wordthe Holy Scriptures as I choose. I believe that the Pope is anti-Christ; that any man can be saved, provided he is an honest man; I believe that faith alone is sufficient for salvation; that good works, and works of penance, and the confession of sins are not necessary, etc.
Is this satire or an attempt at being serious? Because I gotta tell you....it looks like satire to me.
The act of a Christian is to believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Can anyone have salvation based on faith in Christ? You betcha they can based on the words of Christ Himself in John 3:16.
For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Thank you..he is.
Or "poorly catechized" --
:D
Hoss
No, the apostles would not.The apostles used what Yeshua used: The ancient Hebrew texts.
Those that later translated the apostles to Greek copped out in some cases and copied the LXX
Ah, the lost, never before seen Hebrew originals of the NT texts!
Cultic nuttery.
AND the Holy Spirit. Both.
AHHHhhh!
I see!
Pope Stephen VI (896897), who had his predecessor Pope Formosus exhumed, tried, de-fingered, briefly reburied, and thrown in the Tiber.[1]
Pope John XII (955964), who gave land to a mistress, murdered several people, and was killed by a man who caught him in bed with his wife.
Pope Benedict IX (10321044, 1045, 10471048), who "sold" the Papacy
Pope Boniface VIII (12941303), who is lampooned in Dante's Divine Comedy
Pope Urban VI (13781389), who complained that he did not hear enough screaming when Cardinals who had conspired against him were tortured.[2]
Pope Alexander VI (14921503), a Borgia, who was guilty of nepotism and whose unattended corpse swelled until it could barely fit in a coffin.[3]
Pope Leo X (15131521), a spendthrift member of the Medici family who once spent 1/7 of his predecessors' reserves on a single ceremony[4]
Pope Clement VII (15231534), also a Medici, whose power-politicking with France, Spain, and Germany got Rome sacked.
HMMMmmm...
Yes!
So terrible!!
Next they'll say that Mary is DEAD!!!
Baking Soda is great stuff...I use it in washer to clean clothes better in addition to laundry detergent.
“Neither Calvin nor Luther would have abided pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, Liberal members like the RC church does”
The doctrine Catholic Church does not “abide” or allow or whatever you want to call it, homosexual pastors preaching with their “husband” sitting in the front pew and never will. The Catholic Church does not “marry” homosexuals and never will. The Catholic Church does not have women preaching the gospel and never will. The Catholic Church believes in no abortion for any reason and will never condone the murder of the unborn. Don’t bother me with someone who calls themselves a Catholic that does not abide by the teachings of the faith and I will not mention the names of the faiths that allow all the above wickedness and immorality and openly promotes it. But here’s a clue for you. They’re all protestant.
Your cultic nuttery must be what would cause you to expect the originals of the true texts, but not for the Greek, huh?
I suppose the Disciples would have been expected to use kevlar backed skins.
The original words of the first gospel written are available in their original language, complete, backed by 28 separate finds with scant differences.
.
I would tell you they aren't Protestant then either. If you can exclude folks, so can we.

>> “and the denomination is of no consequence to HIM” <<
.
But the truth is of great consequence to him!

Catholics enjoy the intercession of the Saints and the honoring of Mary. Lutherans arent against those,
Since the saved are saints, we welcome the intercessions of those alive on earth. Intercession of the departed? No way. Honoring Mary as the Catholics have done? No way.
Finally, Under Canon Law, the Lutheran Episcopal line is no longer valid, so their priests are not validly ordained, thus Lutheran Communion is not, in the eyes of the Catholic Church, the Body and Blood of Christ.
Since we are God's, Lutherans don't concern themselves with canon law but with God's opinion as to who is a member of His Church. Canon law didn't stop the valid Apostolic ordination of its clergy. The Reformation wasn't just confined to the Universities.
But since you missed the point of the question, Lutheran service starts with an Invocation followed by Confession and Absolution. OT/Epistle readings and Gospel. Sermon, prayers, Benediction and close of service. Communion celebration is after prayers. The content of the sermon, the Recipient of our prayers, and the lack of transubstantiation round out the difference. Which makes all the difference.
