SF Archbishop to Pelosi: 'No Catholic Can Dissent' on Abortion

26 Jan 2015 By Courtney Coren

San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, responding to recent statements made by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, says there is no debate in the Catholic Church about life beginning at conception and no room for Catholics to "dissent" on the principle.

During a press conference on Jan. 22, the same day the pro-life group "March for Life" was holding its annual rally in Washington, Pelosi would not answer whether she believes life begins at 20 weeks, saying that "it's not up to politicians to" make that decision, The Daily Caller reported. Special: Controversial Site Exposes 'Scary' Details About Your Past "The life and the health of a mother is what is preeminent when a decision is made about a woman's reproductive health," the California Democrat, who's district includes San Francisco, explained, adding that since she is a "Catholic and a mom of five" that it's "true" that "she knows more about having babies than the pope."

SF Archbishop to Pelosi: 'No Catholic Can Dissent' on Abortion

The AB is incorrect. Many Catholics can and do dissent with the RCC regarding abortion, and have for many years while giving lipservice to their religious beliefs.

There is nothing that cannot be bought, overlooked, or explained away in the RCC heirarchy. Nothing.

Empty rhetoric.

Pelosi Is either dissenting, or not dissenting on life beginning at conception, but not caring and still extolling abortion.

Either way the Catholic Church is not going to kick her out.

Didn’t the Bishop for Sibelius’ diocese forbid her to take communion there?

of course a person who calls him/herself a Catholic can do anything that they choose to do....do not, however, mistake what a real Catholic does with what a so called catholic does...Pelosi is a small c catholic at best but she really should seek a "denomination" that better reflects her bizarre behavior......and there are plenty of them.

Pelosi has already admitted she's not Catholic since in an interview she stated that she follows the same doctrine as Protestant folks which in fact is a clear statement of heresy and a denial of Catholic Doctrine. Abortion or not, she's excommunicated herself as have the Bishops who go along to get along helping her keep the lie about her being Catholic going for political purposes.

In that interview, she said she decides things for herself based on her own understanding after considering what the Catholic Church says, what the Bible says, and how she feels after praying about something. Nothing the Church teaches or the Scripture states makes any difference once her Self has decided what it wants. That foundation of Self and Self Alone is the real basis of all Protestant and Protestant derived "Christianity" just like it's the basis of Pelosi's "Christianity".

For 99% of politicians, though, it doesn't really matter what they call themselves since they've already sold their souls to Satan in return for power in Caesar's realm.

The only thing funny about Pelosi is that the Evangelicals weren't cheering and bragging about her being a convert to their Evangelical beliefs when she stated the exact same approach to Christianity they espouse. You'd think they'd brag about their converts instead of going along with the lie that she's somehow Catholic.

I guess such folks believe that if she says she's Catholic she is because for them how they live their lives doesn't matter once they've said the magic words.

Even Mormons have undies they have to wear and rules they have to abide by, but Evangelicals? Just say the magic words and they're home free no matter what. Rape, murder, theft, infanticide, none of it matters once they say the magic words, and they even seem proud of their ability to tell lies about anyone who disagrees with them in an effort to hide their huge contribution to the collapse of Christianity in this country.

Roe v. Wade, 1972. Nazi Peelousy has been an abortion advocate in Congress since 1987.
So almost thirty years later, I think one would be safe betting the farm—lock, stock & barrel—that the worst the Mother Church will do in regard to Nazi is continued “harrumphing”.
Hmmmm?

" . . . the worst the Mother Church will do in regard to Nazi is continued “harrumphing”.

The same Irish bookies who take bets on the next Pope would no doubt agree. If she doesn't die soon, though, someone is going to at least threaten her with excommunication which should bring all her Botox to a boil and cause her to explode.

Hope it happens on the Tee Vee.

Since the majority of Catholic voters vote for her party, and democrat politicians are the Catholic royalty in America, I would say she is in the right denomination.

Evangelicals are the most pro-life voters in America.

The Catholic vote is almost always for the pro-abortion party, Pelosi is a Catholic.

Not according to her own profession of faith wherein she clearly states that the lives her life according to exactly the same fundamental interpretation of Christianity that the anti-Catholic crowd on FR profess; Self and Self Alone.

Whether she's of the "Evangelical" flavor or not doesn't matter, all Protestant doctrine boils down to Self and that's exactly what dear old Nancy professes just like the "Evangelical" crowd on FR.

Be proud of converting her to Sola Yourselfa instead of hiding from the fruits of Protestant thought.

To stay on the thread topic, Nancy Pelosi.

She is obviously a Catholic, and has met with her Pope, and took Communion at her Vatican last year.

She easily wins the Catholic vote.

The topic is which faith Nancy Pelosi professes and lives by, not voting.

Obviously, she does not live according to the teaching of the Catholic Church.

Perhaps when she visits the Vatican they should refuse her communion, and quit counting her as a member of their denomination.

And perhaps the church Jimmy Carter attends should kick his butt out in the street for all the garbage he's spouted and the way he twist Scripture to suit his agenda at any given moment.

Lots of “perhaps” things never happen when politicians are involved because politicians are dedicated to politics and not to their faith the same way some people believe their voting record is more important than what they actually believe and their relationship with Christ.

Of course, people who live in little bubbles or who have their heads buried in the sand don't understand the fact that humans are sinful and weak and often don't do what they "perhaps" should do no matter what their position in life in theory gives them the authority to do.
