Rising IQs = I’m as smart, if not smarter than God, Ping!

No wonder the kids think they’re smarter than I am.

I think of the parable of the publican and the Pharisee.

This must be why colleges at all levels are starting remedial classes for high-school graduates just to get them up to the level where they can take beginning 100 series college classes.

It must be also why there is such a high drop-out rate in our high-schools.

It must be why they can't add, subtract, multiply or divide.

It must be why when working in a fast, foods joint, they can't count back change.

It must be why many of them can't write cursive, or if they do, it is not readable.

It must be why many of them can't tell time from an analog clock.

I know, they are so damn smart!

IQ tests test the kind of intelligence that can be tested by an IQ test.

It does not test “intelligence”.

At the time of the founders, you had to have Greek and Hebrew just to get into college. The idea that our forbearers weren’t smart is belied by the fact that they built the world we live in.

Not rising IQ so much as rising prosperity generally. The amassing of material comfort and the banishing of most of the dread diseases of the past contribute to an indifference to God as people come to feel it’s all right here on earth.

Big deal. The worst thing that came out of the Enlightenment was the cult of reason, and that abstract thought is all that matters.

Just because you can think abstract doesn’t make you moral, or wise.

In general Christians have done a poor job of preaching the word, the whole word. It’s a reason why I love Ravi Zechariah.

If there’s anything to this article, it’s probably nutrition that has increased the IQs. On the other hand, give today’s average kid a school test from 1910 and see how well they do.

How did they make the correlation between high IQ's and the decline in faith?

I am also somewhat skeptical of the rising IQ's claim. At least from what I see around me.

This article leaves some pretty serious issues out of consideration. For example, IQ tests have been “adjusted” within a world that has changed education itself to normalize grades upwards, by literally dumbing-down the information being taught and making the assessments of differences all but illegal.

In addition, world history has exposed many religious charlatans, and the entire New Age movement has corrupted the teachings of every religion it has borrowed from, creating a mishmash of so-called philosophical positions largely fronted by socialist hucksters.

Finally, the internet has shifted what passes for learning to the acquisition of factoids, often provided by globalist manipulators running NGOs to destroy opposition to their schemes. So all young people get upon first, second and even third passes at research are so biased they bend computer screens into pretzels. And, of course, these same young people are never taught actual critical thinking skills - only group agreement tactics and NLP techniques that have been labelled critical thinking - as long as they don’t go off the plantation.

So how can such people evaluate religion? All they learn are the aspects of supposed “failures” of logic in traditions which rely largely upon faith, in a world where they are given success for agreeing with socialist interpretations of the world.

Thus I don’t think the falling away from God is from anything having to do with IQ, but very intense thought control and mind training. And as for calling the results of these manipulations “more intelligent,” well of course they’re going to be called that! After all, what are you going to tell them, that they’ve been rendered mentally weak and all but stupid for going along with the groupthink? No indeed, that will never do.

I think it’s debateable.

I think it depends on how its measured and what they are measuring.

Dropout rates are very high in urban areas. We’ve got people who can’t spell their own names or make proper change for a dollar. We hear of the plight so many kids going to college have to take remedial courses just to get up to par to be at college. They are not ready to take the basic entry college courses. We’ve got experts in fields that are worthless.

Further 100 years ago a lot more people knew how to take care of themselves in extreme conditions. They could survive. Try that with most of us today.

IQ is not a guarantee of intelligence. Look at the Harvard knobs. There are experts in certain fields that are clueless in other areas of life. Or very smart people making very bad decisions despite their intelligence.

I am not sure what is going on here.

I took a course on testing way back in 1968 and one thing I remember is that IQ tests are probably the most reliable of all tests.

On the other hand, I do not believe people are getting smarter, just the opposite is more likely.

I suspect something is being rigged.

Thoughts on faith. Historically the Decline in faith seems more associated with a particular historical phase, Spengler comes to mind. No one believed the dominant religion in the late Roman Republic and Early Imperial times. Indeed as early as the 600 BC people were questioning the pagan Gods. In short, the old faiths die, at least historically.

Does any one actually know what intelligence quotient really means? does it mean what some one is capable of learning or what they already know.

Some one who have done math before would naturally get a better score than those who had not which holds true to any thing else.

But in any case the U.S is in the worst shape its been in since the civil war, don`t say much for higher education.

Not true, they move the line to support their agenda.

We are expected to cast off "old school" wisdom and adopt new age crap.
