Awesome kid movie. I don’t know what the writers intended but it is a very adaptable story. Lion King as well believe it or not!
Yep. The Lion King is basically “Hamlet”, though, so it has some heavyweight credibility in terms of storytelling, and that extends to Lion King 1 1/2, which is basically “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” (Hamlet as seen by a couple of minor characters), and Lion King 2 Simba’s Pride which is basically “Romeo and Juliet” (only with a Disney ending).
