Details:
In response to the desecration of ten parishes since October, including five on February 6-7, the bishop of Bellay-Ars has ordered the Blessed Sacrament removed from the tabernacles of all parish churches and chapels.
The Blessed Sacrament, Bishop Pascal Roland decreed, must be kept in a more secure location, and tabernacle doors must be kept open to indicate that the Eucharist is not present.
The order (via Google Translate):
- Blessed Sacrament will be removed [from] tabernacles of all parish churches and chapels and be kept in a secure location.
- The door of the tabernacle [will] remain conspicuously open.
- For the purposes of public or private prayer, the Blessed Sacrament will be [placed] temporarily in these tabernacles provided that a sufficient presence of the faithful is assured.
- The only exceptions will [be] metal tabernacles [that are] secure and have a resistant lock.
- These measures come into force from today [Monday February 9] and will remain so until further notice.
- The bishop hopes that these exceptional measures manifest to all the seriousness of these facts and help discourage [such vandalism].
I’m curious if anything like this has ever happened before. Has a bishop ever before ordered a wholesale emptying of all tabernacles in his diocese??

The last time may very well date back to the time of The Crusades.
Same perps.

There are aspects of crashing that still bring shock to me...this is one of them. Evil is really growing and unfortunately it is going to continue to grow.

i dont know who is doing this, it could be any disappointed frustrated or crazy person I guess
but in GENERAL, we should expect to see more and more attacks on French churches
since
the French ruling elite has sold the country out to the IslamoNazis
and they’ve already got five million into just France alone!

I certainly hope that they can find the perps, so this solution proves temporary. Because the solution is in some ways almost as bad as the crime. As one can see in the photo, now the church appears deserted and abandoned. It must seem pretty sad for anyone who goes into the church in off hours to pray. The Sacrament in the tabernacle is the center and essence of being in a Catholic church.

I think I’ll go to the adoration chapel at my parish tomorrow. If it’s warm out I’ll walk to the one closest. I’m so grateful for the freedom to practice my faith.

Not from what I’ve read on this forum. Until the host is consecrated, is just starch patties.

Until it’s consecrated, it’s not the Eucharist.

You read correctly, but a host that has not been consecrated would not be in the tabernacle. The tabernacle is the place to store consecrated hosts that has not been eaten (consecrated wine is drunk right after the Mass). Some rites also give out consecrated bread so that nothing remains, but in the Roman Rite it is allowable to reserve consecrated hosts till the next time.

For adoration, consecrated wafers are used. The Eucharist is present for the holy adoration.

I wonder if president B-O's repugnant admonition to Christians at the prayer breakfast, to "get off their high horse", was heard in France, and if these unholy desecrations were somehow in response to those ill-advised remarks.
I pray that the light of God's truth shines into those fetid and darkened souls, and enables them to see, and to turn to God, and away from evil.
