Full Title: Oprah Asked This Ex-Megachurch Pastor When Christianity Will Embrace Gay Relationships — and His Answer Seemed to Take Her By Surprise

Former megachurch pastor Rob Bell told TV host Oprah Winfrey that he believes Christian churches will become even more irrelevant if they fail to embrace gay relationships and that he sees the Christian umbrella becoming more favorable of homosexuality in the very near future.

When Winfrey asked when the church will come on board with same-sex relationships, Bell, the former pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church in Grandville, Michigan, said that he believes that the time is “close” and that “we’re just moments away from the church accepting it,” according to the Christian Post.

“I think culture is already there and the church will continue to be even more irrelevant when it quotes letters from 2,000 years ago as their best defense, when you have in front of you flesh-and-blood people who are your brothers and sisters, and aunts and uncles, and co-workers and neighbors, and they love each other and just want to go through life with someone,” Bell said on OWN’s “Super Soul Sunday.”

Winfrey, who seemed somewhat surprised by this response, indicated that she has spoken with pastors who hold a very different view.

“You sound really progressive to me,” she said, with Bell’s wife, Kristen, chiming in to note that, while some churches are moving forward to embrace same-sex relationships, others are “regressing” and digging their heels in.

Bell and his wife appeared on the show to discuss their new book, “The ZimZum of Love: A New Way of Understanding Marriage.” The former preacher has a history of stirring theological controversy.

Making God’s perfect wisdom irrelevant is purely satanic.

What a stupid question, why not get her Rev Wright on and ask him about it and ask when will they accept whites as equal and not all whites hurt black but also blacks hurt blacks.

Hallelujah, Oprah.

I'll bet the Messiah himself never gave each of his audience members a new car.

Well, it’s working so well for the world why shouldn’t the world control God? A better question would be, when can we outlaw Christian churches?

Maybe in those big, wealthy megachurches whose well-to-do pastors will say anything to keep their personal gravy trains rolling, but I’m pretty sure that your average down home rural or even inner city Baptist, Holiness, or Church of Christ, etc. will NOT be going along with the big sodomite push to make the LGBT lifestyle godly.

The day my church does that, I find a different church.

It's an abomination and cannot be condoned by God.

Homosexuality is not. It's a sin. Homosexual marriages are a mockery of marriage the God declaring the one flesh union of man and woman was good.

And, I have lost total respect for Carrie Underwood, who agrees with same-sex marriage. She belongs, apparently, to a liberal church in Tennessee. I will no longer listen to her sing Christian songs, which she condones this abomination.

We should be in the world, not of it. If we are irrelevant, so be it.

This infidel will be embracing polygamy soon.

Rob Bell just wants to be liked. He’s like the high school geek who wants to hang out with the cool guys.

Where do these “Christian” weirdos come from?

Last I checked, The Cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the City of Benjamin were wiped out because of homosexuality.

It wasn’t just a few queers either, it was ENTIRE CITIES.

I sort of regard those two examples as God’s final word on the subject.
