Update: No improvement in her condition. She still on the Ventilator and our Doctor told me to prepare for the worst as easy as it can be said. eve known him a long time so I'm sure it's not easy for him either. Not news I want but he has to be honest with us.

More fluid in the lungs meaning more frequent suctioning and her Blood Sugar is creeping up. She's on an IG feeding tube. Prayer and GOD’s Will be done is all we have. She's one tough woman but one that has been through more trials and tribulations on this earth in her life than her share.

Thanks everyone for the prayers. Update: I left for a while this morning to go get cleaned up but our daughters stayed. While I was gone the Pulmonary Doc turned off the part of the Ventilator that forces breath in and out and put a static pressure as I understand it to keep her lungs inflated. That was three hours ago. So far she's breathing that way taming her own breaths.

He tells us in order to come off the Vent it will require a trach and a specialized care facility out of state to maintain it if she does make it. Otherwise she won't make it out of the hospital and my not make it to the facility if that was decided.. More Prayers for her health & more decisions we must make.

Nursing Home reality is Staph. I know I worked in them before. The nearest facility they mentioned is West Virginia at least a days drive.

More issues in her health also popping up that have my concern including what looks like internal bleeding. They gave her two units a couple days ago. Again thanks for the prayers.

Update: Prognoses hasn't changed but they are trying to get her breathing on her one. First day on static standby she breathed 8 hours it surprised everyone. Yesterday 4 hours and today 4 hours.

We've been told something this morning we pray is true but it wasn't the regular doctors treating her who told us that she might be able to take a trach and go home as in home with me. This doctor is not aware of all her history I could tell by questions he asked after saying that. We certainly hope and pray it can happen. But her regular doctors still don't think her lungs can stay inflated and support her. Plus they are highly concerned about infections and this morning her white blood count was off pointing to another possible infection.

The Trach procedure alone could also bring another one on. Three years ago she had Thyroid Cancer and had it removed. She developed pneumonia two days after going home. So yes their concerns are very realistic.

Bless her heart she's fighting the good fight. She and I discussed with an alphabet board her wishes in worse case circumstance yesterday after the doctor and I explained fully her prognoses.

Today's miracle medicine abilities are a blessing but also leave many hard choices that were not possible before. I grew up in the generation of Iron Lungs and Oxygen Tents. I was six and remember my grandma in an oxygen Tent due to heart issues correctable today. Thanks for the prayers one and all.

The news we had hoped for being true wasn't made with full knowledge of her history. The only way she can live is in a special skilled institution due to her multiple complications.

The scoped her lungs again today and I won't know anything until tomorrow. In the mean time I'm seeing declines that are not welcomed news. She's been on the ventilator for eleven days now. They switch it over to encourage her to breath on her own but she can only do so for about 5 hours and that's with her lungs inflated. This is day 16 in the hospital and day 12 of ICU.

Quick Update. They are taking the Ventilator Tube out today. They've been trying to get her lungs built back up on it for 12 days. If she can't breath on her own they will try a Trach. This is her one chance to get to come home. I don't have a time line could be anytime from now till evening. If this all fails she has decided that due to her health issues, the high risk of facility life, and her prognoses, to place being off the Ventilator in GOD’s Hands. IOW No ventilator for the rest of her life and away from family. We pray that GOD’s Will Be Done. This is the doctors best they can do for her and they've gone way above and beyond. Thanks

Thanks everybody. Things moving fast this morning. Thanks Be To GOD She's off the ventilator, on nasal O2, and has a 98% Saturation rate. They took the tube out almost two hours ago. Long ways to go and with her history long ways to go until out of the woods. Her Pulmonary Mechanics within her must hold up and she frail to say the least. Infections is the next concern.

The best Pulmonary Group this end of the state is doing her pulmonary care and our primary care doctor is working with them. It's a newer but small hospital just outside of town and our doctor makes his own rounds. That helps an awful lot because each day another doctor doesn't have to learn case history.

It's in GOD's Hands not that it ever wasn't. Our next breath is given us by His decree but He also gives doctors their gift to treat.

It's been a rough three weeks for the family one crisis was still going on when this one began.
