"Because people would laugh at me if I didn't!"

How about "It's cold outside!"?

So many struggle to attain their own righteousness. The righteousness of Christ is freely available to all who put their faith and trust in Him alone.

So...the faithful unclad are OK?

Not sure author’s reasoning quite goes where expected...

Did Adam use paint to stripe himself, or did he go with mud or some other kind of natural product?

In addition to the Priestly garments, badger skins were put over the Tabernacle.

Great! Man falls from Grace, but it's the badger who has to suffer for it.

No wonder they're so ill-tempered all the time.

Great post - thanks.

New thought hit me: will we need clothing in the next life? Indeed, if we are truly not only then clothed with Christ Himself, those with Him forever will also be “glorified” - thus, theoretically, not needing clothing!

No sex in next life, so that’s not an issue.

Another point some may have not considered - most other religions have sex in the next life - Judaism & Christian faith do not..........

Remember in the garden Adam and Eve were not aware they were naked because they were clothed in Gods righteousness ..when they lost that righteousness they became aware of their nakedness

This article is more about being IN CHRIST than about clothing our physical body.. When the Father sees the elect..He sees His glorious righteous son.. and runs down the hill to greet us

Agreed. It's not surprising however. I think there are all too many who call themselves Christian are simply doing so because they attend some "church" or perform some rituals. I read many comments on these forums where it's obvious the spiritual understanding is missing.

I think technically they were not clothed in God’s righteousness in the garden before the fall. They were innocent, without stain, and had the image of God.......but not yet clothed with God.....

I don’t think you can provide any scripture to support the idea that before the fall Adam & Eve were clothed in God’s righteousness.

However, IF they had eaten of the Tree of Life (Christ), they then would have been clothed in God’s righteousness.

No one can be dogmatic about this as scripture does not say......

Yup.

And another thought.

When our first parents realized they were naked and hid, God clothed the with them skins of animals, Foreshadowing the sacrificial system and which pointed to the sacrifice of Christ.

As a big Robert Heinlein fan I always liked the alternate world described in The Number of The Beast where it was required to attend church completely unclothed. Might do some good for the rampant gluttony easily observable among church members as well.
