I support Patricia Jannuzzi's right to express her Catholic mind without fear of retribution

"Sure...Rome is behaving just like Jesus (gag)."

Oh, I can just feel the love.

Dear Mrs. Don-o,

You're assuming that the wolf in sheep's clothing that is addressed as “excellency” in the aforementioned diocese is not a homosexual, himself. This is an iffy proposition.

Well done, thanks. The Bishop may have too many letter writers that prepare his letters. Or just maybe the Bishop has bought into Gov. Cristie’s mantra - the public is happy when teachers are screwed.

You know, if the guy was actually explaining the Gospel of Grace to them, telling them that some of them may be among the elect, that those who were chosen would fall on their knees and repent of the vile evil that homosexuality represented, you might have something. My guess, however, is they all went away smiling and burping.

I haven't assumed anything about the Bishop's sexual orientation. I reckon that's between him and his confessor.

Latest word, though, is that the Bishop is waffling. I think he'll work something out with Mrs. Jannuzzi , if not to "do" good, then in order to "look" good.

The following is the e-mail I sent to:

Dear __________________,

I'm just preparing my parish' monthly newsletter, "The Disciple," and wish to have some clarification with regard to the employment status of Mrs. Patricia Jannuzzi at Immaculata High School.

My understanding is that she is a tenured teacher of over 30 years' service and has been many times lauded for the excellent classroom instruction as well as her generous service to Church and School in many volunteer capacities over a couple of decades.

What I need to know is, will she be re-hired to teach at Immaculata High School in September? Or is she going to be offered some comparable position elsewhere in the Diocese of Metuchen?

Thank you very much for your attention to this matter. I need this information by Easter.

Faithfully,

[signed] editor, "The Disciple"

It's essential that Patti Jannuzzii must fight this and win. Not only for her sake, but for all faithful teachers --- and in fact, in the widest sense, "for our good, and the good of all His Holy Church." Carry this battle to victory in LOVE.

I also want to tell everyone to be tactful and respectful to the Bishop as you write to him, as he is a bishop, and that means a lot to us Catholic Christians, despite the real or perceived faults an individual bishop may display.

As well Rome should.

Are you behaving like Jesus? No? Then you should too.

Ah. "My guess." Got it.

But you should not circulate speculations based not on evidence, but on worst-case guesses. That corrects nobody; it edifies nobody; and it cultivates the poison plants of cynicism, callousness, rash judgment, defamation, and slander in our souls.

I speak for myself. It is a vexation to my soul to be exposed to constant cynicism.

Amen to that. I think we should follow the example of St. Catherine of Siena, who always showed a filial respect for the clerics (including popes) whom she corrected.

And correct them she did!

So, you are privy to a different take on the “pope’s” luncheon? He told them what I said? And, the homos were correctly educated in the Gospel of Grace? And several became believers? Why no news of that outcome? Instead, everyone is happy. Hmmm. My “guess” is closer than your “defense”, ma’am, isn’t it?

I wrote the Bishop and the Principal asking if they have suspended the encyclicals of Pope John Paul II. The only reply was form letter crap.

No. With all due respect, when evidence is lacking, it is more just and charitable to assume the better, than to assume the worst. The latter is called "rash judgment" (making a negative judgment without evidence, with insufficient evidence, or against the evidence) or detraction/defamation (damaging somebody's reputation without just cause.)

I found this interesting item in a different article:

"Later, addressing mafia members and other criminals during his homily at Mass, the pope said: "Humbly, as a brother, I repeat: Convert to love and justice. Let yourself be found by God's mercy."

Sounds like a call to repentance, to me (LINK)

It’s still good that you wrote to them. The more “form letter crap” they are forced to send out, the better.

I guess that is the question. She supported Christian values and is being punished for it.

According to accounts I have read, the Pope made no public address at all at the prison in Naples, but took time to talk to each inmate privately and individually after the simple lunch (pasta) was served.

There's this from the Washington Blade, a LGBT newspaper:

Francis Meets With Gay, Trans Prisoners (LINK)

"Francis — who is the former archbishop of Buenos Aires — in 2001 kissed and washed the feet of 12 people with AIDS during his visit to a hospice.

"The pontiff continues to face criticism from LGBT advocates and Catholics in spite of his aforementioned efforts.

"Francis urged Slovak voters to support proposed amendments to their country’s constitution that would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman and banned gays and lesbians from adopting children. The Feb. 7 referendum ultimately failed because of insufficient turnout.

"LGBT advocates in the Philippines sharply criticized Francis in January after he suggested during his trip to the country that marriage rights for same-sex couples threatens the family. The pontiff in 2010 described Argentina’s gay nuptials law as “the work of the devil” before the country’s president signed it."

I looked for the Pope Francis quote you posted in the image. Could not find any recent sources other than Breitbart quoting him from 2010 when he was not the Pope.

I could not find anything within context. Do you have another source or even the Vatican link to his comments?

Thanks

From a letter to the Carmelite nuns of Buenos Aires (LINK)...

Quoted by a couple hundred sources, gay, straight, approving, disapproving, right, left and center.
