As a retired military chaplain, allow me again to point out that a chaplain is on active duty as a faithful representative of his/her denomination. THAT is their value to the military. On the battlefield they provide RELIGIOUS support. They MUST be faithful to their denomination or their denomination will FIRE THEM from the military even faster than the military can.
So, the counseling of a chaplain is a RELIGIOUS act and must be faithful. They are NOT medical corps counselors, and in fact, they are forbidden to be in those slots. Their credentials are entirely different.
So, when someone comes to an ASSEMBLY OF GOD chaplain and presents issues, they will be given answers that are faithful to that chaplain's religious background. They are not psychologists, social workers, secular therapists. That is not why they are there.
They are there as RELIGIOUS REPRESENTATIVES to comfort the living, pray with the wounded, and honor the dead.
Thank you for your service, xzins. Grateful you were there for our service men and women.
Nonsense. I’ve had Freepers on here excoriate me for saying that the military has now been compromised and is a homosexual haven.
They’ll never take their blinders off.
Rum, Sodomy and the Lash.
