ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Interestingly, for English, a local public school here had the seniors read *Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God*.

I would not have believed it but know the kids who attended the school and they are Christians and I certainly believe them.

Jonathan Edwards’ sermon “ Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” is a great spiritual work, a great literary work and an important historical work, reflecting as it does the First Great Awakening. IIRC, Edwards graduated Yale at the age of 14, was Dean of Yale College at 21 and later went to Massachusetts to assume pastoral duties when his grandfather died leaving his congregation without a minister. Edwards later became president of Princeton. He was a very important figure in early American history and all too neglected nowadays.
