“I was surprised that they would go to such extreme actions.”

The pastor, is a best, naive.

**Lowe, who subscribes to the traditional and biblical definition of marriage - that of being between a man and a woman - has been outspoken against his denomination's new direction.**

He'll be headed to the Gulag Gaylag soon enough.

The Evangelicals have not changed their position.

So, if they are “suddenly on the wrong side” of the issue, it is because the “side” moved.

Well, let's just cut through all of that crap:

"What sayeth the Word"?
That keeps it simple - what does God say about this?

[[Presbyterian Church (USA): Evangelicals suddenly on the wrong side in gay marriage debate]]

Nonsense- TRUE Christians are NOT on the wrong side- Wolves in sheep’s clothing are the only ones supporting gay marriage

I’d like to hear Carlisle Presbytery’s take on the subject, as I don’t trust reporters to get the story correct. But if the essentials are correct, dissolving a session is rather extreme.

I’ve given up on the PCUSA. I’ve been saying for the past ten years or so that it will soon be a mere rump of itself with most of its congregation dissolving their bonds with it. For what it is worth, I am a ruling elder in the PCUSA.

Englund-Krieger leading up to the ratification vote, he stressed that even if gay marriage was approved by the church, no pastor would be forced to go against his or her conviction and perform a gay marriage.

I.e., if you like your traditional beliefs, you can keep your traditional beliefs.... Same lie, same father.

We had to pay $9M to ‘buy’ our church property from PCUSA when we left to join ECO.

One would think they would have learned from the UCC, the piskies, and the ELCA Lutherans. It was expressed long ago as an operating principle by the prescient Richard John Neuhaus: "Where orthodoxy is made optional it soon will be proscribed." It works for politics as well as religion. Once the bullies win, they remove the mask of tolerance and stomp the orthodox.

The Rev. Earl Bland says most Presbyterians are blind to a profound change in the denomination.

REALLY???

This "church " has been apostate for many many years..

They quietly accepted other "confessions"

De funding any investments in Israel, approvedofabortion , became "gay friendly", ordained gays, and became basically universalists..and no one noticed?? Really??

I have a beautiful "Christmas Card" PCUSA church 5 minutes from my house..when we moved here I hoped that they were one of the churches that were still reformed ... I went to a service.. ended up being a hymn service..so i went to a bible study.. led by the pastor ...I found out the people believed that Muslims and Buddhists would be saved...and they all talked about the home study of the book " A Short Course in Miracles"..(a new age book written by a Jew)...The PASTOR said his kids would rather read that than go to church...what a sad commentary

Last Sunday as I was driving to my church (45 min away) I saw a man I knows an elder at that PCUSA walking into church..I felt so sad for him... such deception

As with all things liberal, he who controls the meaning of the words and memes controls the outcome of the debate. In this case who controls the determination of “wrong side”.

But also recall that liberals operate under the presumption of moral superiority. So, who gets to define what is moral or not?

God has already spoken quite adequately on the subject of sexual morality. Please read Revelation 22:15. Anyone who practices sexual immorality (as God defines it) will not be offered the free gift of eternal life. Any minister who says something different is misrepresenting God’s words.

Shouldn’t they be more concerned about being on God’s side?

In the Presbyterian Church (USA), the tables seemed to have turned. Increasingly, the conservative, evangelical members of the 1.8-million-member mainline Protestant denomination are finding themselves at odds with socially progressive congregations

Written by someone who apparently is unaware that the PCUSA has been trending to the extreme left for decades...and losing congregations all along the way. So it makes sense the few Biblical Christians who stuck it out would eventually be outnumbered.

Simple math.

The people who are committed Christians will leave the church, and the Presbyterian Church will do a slow fade into oblivion.

“neo-religions” with “neo-faith” in “neo-churches”.

Just call them “neo-Christians”, because though they integrate elements of Christianity and its symbolism, so do the practitioners of Voodoo.
