Catholic Need Not Apply

Just silly... we do not post many "caucus" threads where Catholics are not allowed ...

I've seen a Charismatic Caucus thread before and made the mistake of posting there. Are there ANY other caucus threads? Other than the multitude of RC ones?

This thread?

Who would that be?

Did a mainline Prot start this thread?

You will find it falls on either deaf ears or on those who would seek to justify themselves, though.

Catholics coined the phrase “invincible ignorance,” for a reason.
I applaud your post [and BeauBo's] as well. That being said, here's a trailer to a movie [Millions], we really enjoyed [great message at the end], which had saints and smoking combined (maybe you've seen it?): http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi3734372633

Sorry about the preview ad of the movie, Millions. I thought that was something that changed, but evidently not.

I don’t presume anything. The thread starter, the person “lecturing Catholics about the perils of the brown scapular”, is a self-identified Presbyterian

Catholics show an amazing ignorance of non Catholic churches.. I suspect Rome likes it that way ..

The word "presbyterian" does not address doctrine.. it is a FORM OF CHURCH GOVERNMENT ..

I do not think I have ever said what kind of presbyterian church I attend on any debate threads ...and I do not think that matters..

BUT like most of the Presbyterians I know, I see the PCUSA as a corrupt, heretical denomination ..

Hey rmmomof7, did you know you were PCUSA?

You know Alex, Catholics are willingly and intentionally kept ignorant of Reformation History ..(I had one tell me Luther left because the pope would not let him divorce) and different protestant denominations..

They love grouping us with the Mormons, or the Jw's or the universalists ...

LOL, so wearing a brown scapular is the same thing as being a Muslim now?

In principle yes ..it is an attempt to be "pleasing " to someone.. In Islam Allah.. The scapular an attempt to please Mary by wearing and doing the necessary rosary and prayers daily....

"Catholics show an amazing ignorance of non Catholic churches.. I suspect Rome likes it that way..."

And yet, you people seldom seem to realize that there are Catholics who not Roman Catholics.

"The word "presbyterian" does not address doctrine.. it is a FORM OF CHURCH GOVERNMENT..."

Presbyterian polity refers to a meothd of governance. Presbyterianism can and does refer to doctrines that are usually subscribed to by Presbyterian Churches.

Semantic drug-smuggling will get you nowhere.

That's true, with a lower-case "p". On your profile page, all uses of the word are capitalized.

You presume RnMomof7 is PCUSA.

Perhaps we could infer that some catholics on this board are of the Liberation Theology school of catholicism....???
